A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY .COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION AND
PROPORTIONATE-SHARE FUNDING. BY SAID CITY IN
THE. ORANGE COUNTY ROBBERY SUPPRESS-.ION AND
APPREHENSION PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE
CITY. OF HUNTINGTON :BEACH, AND FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THIS
RESOLUTION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the Orange County Chiefs and Sheriffs
Association has requested and received from the Orange County
Criminal Justice Council a grant .funded for One. Hundred
Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars (~I35,000.00) to undertake a
Robbery Suppression and Apprehension Program; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of said Program is primarily
to provide audio-visual surveillance .systems and training
which will aid in identification and apprehension of criminal
suspects and .thereby reduce the increasing incidences of
robbery; and
WHEREAS, this Program will be administered by the
City of. Huntington. Beach in two phases extending over the.
period January. 1,..1978, through June 30, 1979, with the
Huntington Beach Police Department having been. selected by
the Orange County Criminal Justice Council as Project
Coordinatdr; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that all cities in
Orange County and .the Sheriff's. Department will be partici-
pating in said Program and paying .their proportionate share;
and
WHEREAS, :the City Council of the City of Anaheim
finds that it would be in the 'best interests of the City to
be a participant in said project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to participate
in said Program and its proportionate share-has been estimated
at Seven Hundred Sixty-Nine Dollars ~.nd Fifty Cents ($769.50),
assuming all anticipated cities and the Sheriff's Department
participate.-
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim .that said City will participate and
help fund the Robbery Suppression and Apprehension Program
hereinabove described.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 31st day
