A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED
UP TO THE HOUR OF 2:00 P.M. ON THE 12TH DAY
-°-- OF JANUARY, 1978, FOR THE PERALTA CANYON PARK
(PHASE II) PARKING LOT CONSTRUCTION, ACCOUNT
N0. 16-4309-805-18-0000.
WHEREAS, heretofore, to wit, on the 20th day of
December, 1977, the-City Council of the. City of Anaheim did
adopt Resolution No. 77R-826 finding and determining that
public convenience and necessity required the parking lot
construction at Peralta Canyon Park (Phase II), in the City
of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and direct
the City Clerk to publish a notice according. to law inviting
sealed proposals for the above-mentioned public improvement
and fixing the 12th day of January, 1978, at the hour of 2:00
o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the opening of said
bids in the Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of
Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, upon said 12th day of January, 1978, at the
hour of 2:.00 o'clock P.M., the City Clerk and City Engineer
did open the bid received up to that hour, in public, in the
City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, and the City Engineer did
review said bid and did report the result thereof to the City
Council at its regular meeting held on the 24th day of January,
1978; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the bid received
is in excess of the estimate of the City Engineer of the cost
of said public improvement and is not representative of actual
construction costs, and that said bid should be rejected; and
WHEREAS, the Parks, Recreation and the Arts Department
does hereby recommend to the City Council that it would be in
the best interests of the City to redesign the work contemplated,
perform portions of the work more economically with City forces
and readvertise the remainder of the work at a later date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the bid received up to the hour
of 2:.00 o'clock P.M. on the 12th day of January, 1978, reviewed
-w.. by the City Engineer and submitted to the City Council on
January 24, 1978 for the Peralta Canyon Park (Phase II) parking
lot construction, Account No. 16-4309-805-18-0000, be and
the same is hereby, rejected, that a portion of the work be
redesigned to lower the costs by performance by City forces and
the remainder be readvertised at a later date.
