A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED UP TO
THE HOUR OF 2:00 P.M. ON JUNE 15, 1978 FOR
THE LA PALMA AVENUE STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENT,
LAKEVIEW AVENUE, E/0 KELLOGG DRIVE, IN THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM, ACCOUNT NO. 10 -4309- 727 -16 -0000.
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of May, 1978, the City
Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt Resolution No. 78R -315
finding and determining that public convenience and necessity
required the construction and completion for the La Palma
Avenue Storm Drain Improvement, Lakeview Avenue, E/o Kellogg
Drive, in the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and direct
the City Clerk to publish a notice according to law inviting
sealed proposals for the above - mentioned public improvement
and fixing the 15th day of June, 1978, at the hour of 2:00
o'clock P.M., as the date and hour for the opening of said bids
in the Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim;
and
WHEREAS, upon said 15th day of June, 1978, the City
Clerk and City Engineer did open the bids received up to that
hour, in public, in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, and
the City Engineer did review the bids so received and did
report the results thereof to the City Council at its regular
meeting held on the 11th day of July, 1978 and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the bids received
are in excess of the estimate of the City Engineer of the cost
of said public improvement and are not representative of actual
construction costs; that said bids should be rejected; and that
said job should be readvertised at a later date; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the bids received up to the hour of
2:00 o'clock P.M. on June 15, 1978, reviewed by the City Engineer
and submitted to the City Council on July 11, 1978 be, and the
same are hereby, rejected.
