A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED UP TO
THE HOUR OF 2:00 P.M. ON THE 8TH DAY OF JUNE,
1978 FOR THE EUCLID STREET STREET AND STORM
DRAIN IMPROVEMENT, A.H.F.P. NO. 836
ACCOUNT NO. 13 -4309- 737 -16 -0000.
WHEREAS, heretofore, on the 9th day of May, 1978,
the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt Resolution
No. 78R -297 finding and determining that public convenience
and necessity required the construction and completion of
the Euclid Street street and storm drain improvements,
Riverside Freeway to La Palma Avenue, A.H.F.P. No 836,
Account No. 13 -4309- 737 -16- 0000; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and direct
the City Clerk to publish a notice according to law inviting
sealed proposals for the above - mentioned public improvement
and fixing the 8th day of June, 1978 at the hour of 2:00
o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the opening of said bids
in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, in the City of
Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, upon said 8th day of June, 1978, at the
hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., the City Clerk and City Engineer
did open the bids received up to that hour, in public, in the
City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, and the City Engineer did
review the bids so received and did report the result thereof
to the City Council at its regular meeting held on the 20th
day of June, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the bids
received are in excess of the estimate of the City Engineer of
the cost of said public improvement and not representative of
actual construction costs, that said bids should be rejected,
and that said job should be readvertised at a later date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the bids received up to the hour
of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 8th day of June, 1978, reviewed
by the City Engineer, and submitted to the City Council on
June 20, 1978 be, and the same are hereby, rejected.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
