A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED UP TO
THE HOUR OF 2:0O P.M. ON THE 25TH DAY OF MAY,
1978 FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM -
AREA 1 & 2 STREET & ALLEY IMPROVEMENTS; AREA
1, 2 & 4 BARRIER REMOVAL, AREA BOUND BY LA
PALMA AVENUE, UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD, CYPRESS
STREET AND ANAHEIM BOULEVARD, IN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, heretofore, on the 25th day of April, 1978
the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt Resolution
No. 78R -259 finding and determining that public convenience
and necessity required the construction and completion of the
Community Development Program - Area 1 and 2 Street & Alley
improvements; Area 1, 2 & 4 Barrier Removal; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and direct
the City Clerk to publish a notice according to law inviting
sealed proposals for the above - mentioned public improvement
and fixing the 25th day of May, 1978 at the hour of 2:00
o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the opening of said
bids in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, in the City of
Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, upon said 25th day of May, 1978 at the
hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., the City Clerk and City Engineer
did open the bid received up to that hour, in public, in the
City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, and the City Engineer did
review the bid so received and did report the result thereof
to the City Council at its regular meeting held on the 6th
day of June, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the bid
received is in excess of the estimate of the City Engineer
of the cost of said public improvement and is not representative
of actual construction costs, that said bid should be rejected,
and that said job should be readvertised at a later date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the bid received up to the hour
of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 25th day of May, 1973 reviewed
by the City Engineer, and submitted to the City Council on
June 6, 1978 be, and the same is hereby, rejected.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this �ay of June,
