STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTI'-2ENT OF TRANSPORTA-
TION IN CONNECTION WITH THE IPLPROVEIEENT OF

W111'11 Section 372 of the Streets and Highways Code
as amended by Chapter 1372, Statutes of 1965 Provides that State
Route 72 (Anaheim Boulevard) from Route 5 in or near the City of
Anaheim to Route 39 shall cease to be a State highway when, among
other reauirevents, the surface of Anaheim Boulevard has been
placed in a state of good repair; and
WHERTIA-S, the State of California Department_ of 1 _ 11 rans-
portation (hereinafter "State") plans to place the aforesaid
surface between Cerritos Avenue and the Route 91 Freeway in a
state of good repair (hereinafter "State's Project); and
1*73 AS , City has a redevelopy,. project (hereinafter
"City's Project") which includes the widening of portions of; the
construction of major storn, drain facilities in; the uiograCUng of
existing traffic signals and other upgrading and rei work to
Anaheim Boulevard (State Route 72) ; and
WHEREAS, portions of State's Project would conflict with
or be superseded by City's Project; and
WHEREAS, State is willing to contribute to City and City
is willing to accept a sure which is the estimated cost for prepar-
ing plans, constructing and administering a contract for State's
Project and include in City's Project, or in subsequent City
projects, the work which is necessary to place State Route 72 be-
tween Cerritos Avenue and the Route 91 Freeway in City in a state
of good repair for the purposes of relinquishment; and
WHER—EAS, a Cooperative Agreement has been prepared, the
terms and conditions of which are satisfactory to the City Council
of the City of Anaheim; and
W11 it is in the best interests of the C ity o f
Anaheim to enter into said Agreement.
