A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE
VOLUNTARY COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM FOR
POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE.
WHEREAS, Section 51301, and following, of the
Government Code of the State of California authorizes the
City to contract with the County for the performance of
certain City functions by the appropriate officers and
employees of the County; and
WHEREAS, it appears that certain items may be
acquired consistent with the City's centralized purchasing
system at a substantially lower cost by having selected
items bid through the County's Purchasing Agent.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim hereby
agrees with the County of Orange that the Purchasing Agent
for the County shall be authorized, on behalf of the City of
Anaheim, to negotiate with vendors for the purchase of such
items as are regularly purchased by the County. Authoriza-
tion shall be limited to those items designated and requested
from time to time by the City Purchasing Agent within his
purchasing authority as set forth in the Anaheim Municipal
Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim
hereby agrees to issue its own purchase orders for the
designated items requested and will be totally responsible for
paying, receiving and inspecting for same in accordance with
the contractual agreement made by the County with successful
bidders.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon the approval of the
terms of this resolution by the County Board of Supervisors,
this resolution shall constitute an agreement between the City
of Anaheim and the County of Orange. Such agreement shall be
effective from the date of approval of the County Board of
Supervisors and shall continue until June 30, 1983, but may be
terminated by thirty (30) days written notice given either by
the City of Anaheim or the County of Orange to the other party,
and by the fulfillment of all outstanding purchase obligations.
