RESOLUTION NO. 5774
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF COM-
PENSATION TO CITY PERSONNEL AND EMPLOYEES
CALLED FOR JURY DUTY.
WHEREAS, from time to time City personnel and employees
are summoned by the various courts of Orange County for jury
duty; and
WHEREAS, the City Council feels that wherever possible,
without impairing the City service, such employees should perform
their civic duty and do jury service; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
it would be fair and proper for City personnel and employees who
are summoned for jury duty and who actually serve in such capacity
to receive their regular City salary or wages without diminution;
provided, that any fees, except mileage or subsistence allowances,
received by such personnel or employees be deposited with the
City Treasurer;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City salary resolution be amended,
and that the following paragraph be added thereto:
"Any officer or employee of the City who is duly summoned
to attend any court during the time regularly required
for his office or employment, for the purpose of jury
service, shall be entitled to his regular compensation
while so actually serving, provided the fees, except
mileage or subsistence allowances, which he receives as
a juror are deposited with the City Treasurer."
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 19th day of January, 1960.

AYES: COUNCILMEN: Fry, Pearson, Thompson and Schutte.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Coons.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim
approved and signed said resolution on the 19th day of January,
1960.
