A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE
WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE
DEVELOPMENT OF EAST STR ET
WHEREAS, the Gity of Anaheim desires to improve East Street
from Riverside Fregwav
to La Palma Ayea~ ; and
WHEREAS, East Street is an important
artery in the County of Orange and of general ounty interest; and
WHEREASg Article 2 and Article 3~ Chapter 9g Division 2 of
the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County9 if it so desires
to expend funds apportioned to ft out of the California Highway Users
Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement9 construction or repair
of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends toy by appropriate
action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement
Fund for the Fiscal Year 1960-51 !a sum of money for the imprc~vP-
ment of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in ac®
cordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim hereby requests the Board of Super®
visors of the County of Orange to allocate to said C ty from County
Funds the amount of $5.00.00 ,~~, said amount to be matched
by funds from said City9 to be used to aid said City in the improvement
of _, East Street f rom
to j~a Palma Ayer-ue , and for the acqu sition o necessary
rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be
in accordance with the attached project statemento
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED tha t the Board of Supervisor s of the
County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisi®
tion of rights of way on East Street ~g in the manner
provided, is in the general County interesto
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution9 the City of
Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financ~
ing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improve
ments and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 14b0-61 0
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk beg and she is
hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange Countye California, and
a certified copy to the County Surveyor and Road Commissioner9 Court
House Annex, Santa Ana, Californian
