A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUB-
LIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CON-
STRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVE-'lEnT
MENT, TO WIT: THE BURTON STREET SEWER Il~ROVE~ ~

AND APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES,
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUC-
TION THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF
SAID PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID
PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the con-
st~ction and completion of a public improvement in the City of
Allabeim, to wit:
The Burton street SevTel' I,tiproveraent, from Acacia
street to e, point 900 feet i'Jesterl~'-, consisting of the
com.truct10n O:(",n 8-incn V. C. P. sewer lc,teral,
c')n,;tl"uct10n of stande,rc" manholes, installation of
':.yes, resurfacing :nd. &.)pul'tenant hork, as incLicated
on 'Ghe )lans, Job No. 1031.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed George E. HolYOke,
a ~ni':irfer to prepare detailed designs, plans, profiles,
,." '.' ngs an specirications, and estimates of quantities and costs
ahd make necessary surveys for the construction of said public im-
provement; and
WHEREAS, said C1 t:,' Erl("ineer has prepared said detailed designs,
plana, profiles, drawings and specifications for the construction of
said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City Coun-
ell; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment above-mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practice
and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements of the City or
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes
for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the con-
struction or said public improvement and should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications for said public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as
pl1"epared by said Cit"y E:ik;ineer .

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City dlerk ot the City of'
~e1m be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish
~ Detice according to law, inviting sealed proposals f'or the fUr-
rl!1sh1ng of' all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment,
and all utilities and transportation, including power, f'uel and
water, and perf'orming all work necessary to construct and oomplete
in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with said
detailed deSigns, plans, prof'iles, drawings and specit'ications as
Pl'epared by said Cit;y Enbineer , the public' improvement here-
inabove mentioned and described, and f'ixing the 11th day of'
DecJJnber , 195 6 , at ~he hour of' 7:00 o'clock p. M.
a. the date and hour f'or the opening of' said bids at the City
Council Chambers in the City Hall tn the City of Anaheim, and that
said notice shall be published twice, the first of which publica-
tions shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date f'ixed f'or
the opening of bids, and that said publications Shall be at least
f'ive (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successfUl bidder or
bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with t~e City
of: baheim'in the manner and f'orm approved by the'City Attorney of
the City of Anaheim f'or the construction, installation and comple-
tiOD ot' said public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described,
in aocordance with the plans and specif'ications prepared by said
City EUidileer , the notice inviting sealed proposals, this
resolution and all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and
the laws of' the State of Calif'ornia, and shall be requi~ed ~o post
bonds and insurance in the amounts and within the time required by
law, as specif'ied in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was approved and signed by me this
day of' Novem'ber , 1956 .
