1960-6165RESOLUTION NO. 6165 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING A SEALED PROPOSAL AND AWARDING A WNTRACT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR ALL ADVERTISING NECESSARY OR REQUIRED BY LAW TO BE PUBLISHED IN A NEWSPAPER, DAILY OR OTHERWISE, AND NOT REQUIRED BY LAM TO BE PUBLISHED OUTSIDE THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. Finance WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did cause to be published in a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit: Anaheim Gazette, on the 15th and 22nd days of July, 1960, a notice inviting sealed proposals for furnishing the following legal advertising: For all legal advertising to be done by the City of Anaheim., necessary or required by law to be published in a daily newspaper published within the City of Anaheim, and for all legal advertising to be done by the City not required by law to be published in a daily newspaper and not required to be published in a newspaper outside the City, for the year commencing August 1, 1960 and ending July 31, 1961, in conformity with the specifications for such advertising, which specifications are marked and designated "Specifications for Printing and Advertising of the City of Anaheim, Series of 1959," on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim. AND WHEREAS, said notice inviting sealed proposals for said legal advertising did provide that sealed proposals would be received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim up to the hour of 7 :00 otclock P.M., on the 26th day of July, 1960, for the furnishing of all legal advertising to be done by the City, necessary or required by law to be published in a daily newspaper published within the City of Anaheim, and for all legal advertising to be done by the City not required by law to be published in a daily newspaper and not required to be published in a newspaper outside the City, for the year commencing August 1, 1960 and ending July 31, 1961; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim did receive the following sealed proposal prior to 7 :00 otclock P.N. on the 26th day of July, 1960, in response to the notice afore- said inviting sealed proposals, to wit: NPJ 1E PRICE Anaheim Bulletin $.94 per column inch AND WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the sealed proposal submitted by the Anaheim. Bulletin, 232 South Lemon Street, Anaheim, California, is the lowest responsible proposal -1- submitted for the furnishing of all legal advertising to be done by the City, necessary or required by law to be published in a daily newspaper published within the City of Anaheim, and for all legal advertising to be done by the City not required by law to be published in a daily newspaper and not required to be published in a newspaper outside the City, in conformity with the specifications for said advertising on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals; and that the person, firm or corporation submitting said proposal is a responsible person, firm or corporation, and that the proposal of said above named bidder should be accepted and a contract awarded to said bidder in accordance therewith. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the sealed proposal submitted by the Anaheim Bulletin, 232 South Lemon Street, Anaheim, California, for the furnishing of all legal advertising to be done by the City, necessary or required by law to be published in a daily newspaper published within the City of Anaheim, and for all legal advertising to be done by the City not required by law to be published in a daily newspaper and not required to be pub- lished in a newspaper outside the City, for the year commencing August 1, 1960 and ending July 31, 1961, in conformity with the specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim and the notice inviting sealed proposals be, and the same is hereby accepted, and that a contract for said legal advertising be, and the same is hereby, awarded to the said above named bidder. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said successful bidder shall be, and it is hereby, required to execute a con- tract in the required form with the City of Anaheim upon the terms and conditions specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals and the proposal submitted by said successful bidder, and in accordance with the specifications on file with the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim and with the terms, conditions and provisions of this resolution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to make, execute and enter into, for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim, a written contract with said successful bidder for the furnishing of said legal advertising, as herein above more particularly described, for all legal advertising to be done by the City, necessary or required by law to be pub- lished in a daily newspaper published within the City of Anaheim, and for all legal advertising to be done by the City not required by law to be published in a daily newspaper and not required to be published in a newspaper outside the City, upon the terms and conditions as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, the specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim and in strict accordance with the terms, conditions and provisions of this resolution, and in accordance with all of the contract documents herein specified. -2- AT 'ST: (SEAL) THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me this 26th day of July, 1960.
