OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETEfu~INING THAT
PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQ.UIRE THE
CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT, TO WIT: THL LA P ALl>!A A VENUE SEWER

AND APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES,
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUC-
TION THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF
SAID PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH
SAID PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, E~C.; AND AUTHOR-
IZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH
A NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS) public oonvenience and necessity require the
construction and oompletion o~ a public improvement in the City
of Anahe im, to wi t:
The La Palma Avenue Sewer Extension, along La
Palma Avenue from a point 104 feet East of
Magnolia Avenue to a point 602 feet \'lest of
Magnolia Avenue, conslsting'or excavation,
construction of an 8" V.C.P. sewer main, a
4" hOllse connection, 8" x 411 wyas, construct..,
ion of two standard manholes and one drop
manhole, paving, anQ appurtenant work, as
indicated on the plans, Job No. 1077.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed George E.
Holyoke, City Engineer to prepare detailed de-
signs, plans, profiles, drawings and speCifications, and esti-
mates of quantities and costs, and make necessary surveys for
the construction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, said Engineer has prepared said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and speci~ications ~or the
construction of said public improvement and has submitted the
same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications ~or said
public improvement above mentioned are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and
residents in said area for the purposes for whioh they are
intended, and that they are adequate for the construction of
said public improvement and should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, pro-
files, drawings and specifications for said public improvement
hereinabove mentioned and described be, and the same are here-
by, approved and adopted as prepared by said Engineer.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
ment shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as pre-
pared by said Engineer and hereby approved, and such addenda or
modifications thereto as may be approved prior to the awarding
of bids therefor.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Cl. Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be, and she 1s hereby, authoriZed and direoted to.
publish a no.tice according to. law, inviting s~aled pro.posals fo~
the furnishing o.f all plant, labor, servieea._ mate~ials and .quip-
ment, artd all utilities and t~ansportatic)l'i,' 1:ncludlng power, fuel
,- and water, am performing all work neoessaryto construct and co.m-
plete in a good and workmanlike manner, itl strmt accordance with
said detailed designs, plans~ ~ofiles, drawirigs and'specifioa-
tions as prepared by said Ci~y Engineer, the publio improve-
ment hereinabvve mentio.ned and described, and fixing the 23rd
day of October , 195 6 , at the ho.ur o.f 7:00 o'clo.ck P.K.
as the c:are-'7rd hour for tne-opening o.f said bids a't the City
Council ChS'lJ.J s in the City Hall in the City o.f Anaheim, and
that said r~;'~e shall be published twice, the first of which
publications ;'1811 be at least ten (10) cl,ays prio.r to. the date
fixed for thfJ~,a;:C'g o.f bids, and that said publications shall
