.iHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did
cause to be published in a ne,;Tspaper of general circulation,
9rinted, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit:

.,l956__, __ __.' a notice inviting sealed proposals for
furnishing the following:
All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment,
and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work nec-
essary to construct and con~lete in a good and work-
manlike manner, in strict accordance with the speci-
fications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the
office of the Superintendent of Light, Power and Water
or the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following
public improvement, to wit: The designing, construc-
tion and completion of an 11-4 KV Substation on pro-
perty owned by the City of Anaheim on the East side of
Claudina Street, South of the Southern Pacific Railroad
right-of-way and approximately 320 feet north of the
center line of Ellsworth Avenue, in the City of Ana-
heim, together with all appurtenant work, as indicated
on the plans, Work Order No. 2261.
In accordance with the designs, plans, profiles and specifications
of said. public improvement on file in the OfC ;e of the City Clerk
of the City of Anaheim; and
iHERLAS, said notice inviting sealedroposals for said
)~blic improvement did provide that sealed pro osals would be re-
ceived by the City Council of the City of Anah im at the Office of
the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim up to th~ hour of 7:00 o'clock
?:.. on the 25th day of _J>eptembel'_' 195.2_for the furnishing
of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utili-
Gies and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and per-
forming all work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and
"orkmanlike manner, the public improvement hereinabove more particu-
larly mentioned and described and which notice did state and declare
ch~t Jursuant to the Drovisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code,
the City Council of the City of Anaheim had ascertained the prevailing
rate of Hages in the locality in which this type of labor is to be pe1-
formed for each craft or tYlJe of Horkman or mechanic needed to execute
the contract and did set forth the prevailing hourly "rage scale so
ascertained; and

WHEREAS, the Oity Counoi1 did thereupon reter said bids to
the SUP I t. of Light. Power and Water tor examination, tabulation
and report to the City Oouncil, and said Superintendent
did .xamlne and tabulate said sealed proposals and did report to the
Oouncil the result of his examination and tabulation; and
WHEREAS, the Oity Oounoil finds that the sealed proposal sub-
mitted by BECHTEL CORPORATION
4620 Seville Avenue: Vernon, California
is the lowest responsible proposal submitted for the furnishing of all
plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and
transportation, inoluding power, fuel and water an4 performing all work
necessary to oonstruot and complete in a good and workmanlike manner
in striot acoordance with the specifications, plans and drawings
therefor on file in the office of the Oity Olerk of the Oity of Ana-
helm of the publiC improvement hereinabove mentioned and desoribed,
together with the appurtenanoes thereto, and as speoified in the
notioe inviting sealed proposals, and that said proposal of said
above named bidder should be aocepted and a contraot awarded to said
bidder in aooordanoe therewith; and
WHEREAS, the Oity Oouncil finds that the above mentioned
sealed proposal is the lowest responsible proposal received and that
the person, firm or corporation submitting said proposal is a
responsible person, firm or corporation and that the proposal sub-
mitted 1s the best suited and fitted for the public improvement to
be construoted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM, that the sealed proposal submitted by
BECHTEL CORPORATION

for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, all utilities and transportation, inoluding power, fuel
and water and performing all work necessary to oonstruct and oomplete
in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the
specifioations, plans, and drawings therefor on file in the office
of the City Clerk of the Oity of Anaheim and the notioe inviting
sealed proposals, the public works and improvements hereinabove more
partioularly mentioned and described, together with the appurtenanoes
thereto, be, and the same 1s hereby, accepted, and that a oontraot
for the construotion and oompletion of said public improvement be,
and the same is hereby, awarded to the said above named bidder.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED tPAt the suocessful bidder or
bidders upon each contract awarded as hereinabove set forth shall
be, and th~y are hereby reqUired to execute a contract in the required

form with the City of Anaheim upon the terms and conditions specified
in the notioe inviting sealed proposals and the proposal submitted
by said suocessful bidder or bidders and in accordance with the plans
and specifications for said public improvement hereinabove desoribed
and in accordance with the terms, conditl'0ns and provisions of this
resolution, and that said successful bidder or bidders to whom each
contraot is awarded shall be required to furnish a surety bond in an
amount equal to one hundred per cent (lOO~) of the contraot prioe for
all labor, materials and equipment to be furnished and performed as
set forth in the sealed proposals submitted by said bidder for the
construotion of said public improvement together with the appurtenances
thereto or such portion thereof as is oovered by said oontract as
security for the faithful performance of said contraot and a separate
surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred per cent (lOO~) ot the
construc~on cost of said public improvement oovered by said oontract
as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furn-
ishing material for said projeot.
AND BE I'!' FURTHER RESOLVED that sa1c1 suooessful bidder or
bldders be, and they are hereby required to fur.nlsh to the City ot
Anaheim in oompanies satisfaotory to the City ot Anaheim public
llability, property damage, compensation, and other insurance in
the amounts and tor the purposes as set forth and speoified in the
notice inviting sealed proposals and subjeot to the approval of the
City Attorney as to form and sutficienoy.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Olerk
of the City of Anaheim be, and they are hereby, authorized and direoted
to make, execute and enter into for and on behalf of the Oity ot Ana-
heim a written oontract with said successful bidder or bidders tor the
furnishing of all plant, labor, materials, and equipment and performing
all work as hereinabove more particularly desoribed for the oonstruc-
tion, installation and oompletion of said public improvement herein-
a~ove desoribed upon the terms and oonditions as speoified in the
nGtice inviting sealed proposals, the detailed design, plans, profiles,
drawings and general speoifications and detailed specifioations and
drawings and all addenda thereto and all modifications incorporated
therein prior to the date of the opening of bids, on file in the office
ot the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim and in strict acoordanoe with
the terms, conditions and proviSions of this Resolution, and in accord-
ance with all the contract documents herein specified.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this
