1960-6052RESOLUTION NO. 6052 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUB- LIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CON- STRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVE- MENT, TO WIT: THE DESIGNING, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A NEW 66/12 -KV SUBSTATION ON THE EAST SIDE OF DOWLING AVENUE, 460 FEET SOUTH OF CORONADO STREET; A NEW 66/12 -KV SUBSTATION AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF CERRITOS AVENUE AND LEWIS STREET; AND CHANGES AND ADDITIONS TO AN EXISTING 66 /I2 -KV SUBSTATION ON THE WEST SIDE OF GILBERT STREET, 700 FEET SOUTH OF CRESCENT AVENUE, AND AN EXISTING 66/12 -KV SUBSTATION ON THE WEST SIDE OF CLAUDINA STREET, 250 FEET SOUTH OF SANTA ANA STREET, WORK ORDER NO. 2830; AND APPROVING THE PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUC- TION THEREOF. WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the construction and completion of a public improvement, to wit: The designing, construction and completion of a new 66/12 -KV Substation on the east side of Dowling Avenue, 460 feet south of Coronado Street; a new 66/12 -KV Substation at the south- west corner of Cerritos Avenue and Lewis Street; and changes and additions to, and construction and completion of an existing 66/12 -KV Hannum Substation on the west side of Gilbert Street, 700 feet south of Crescent Avenue, and an existing 66/12 -KV Anaheim Substation on the west side of Claudina Street, 250 feet south of Santa Ana Street, all in accordance with detailed plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City Clerk or Utilities Director of the City of Anaheim, Work Order No. 2830. The premises on which the above mentioned Sub- stations are to be located or are located are owned by the City of Anaheim and are located in the City of Anaheim, with the exception of the Substation on Dowling Avenue, south of Coronado Street, which is situated in the County of Orange. AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Utilities Director to prepare detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications, and estimates of quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the construction of said public improve- ment; and WHEREAS, said Director has prepared said detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for the construc- tion of said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improvement above mentioned are in accordance with good engi- neering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and require- ments of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the construction of said public improvement and should be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improvement hereinabove men- tioned and described be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Director. AND 3E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by said Direc- tor and hereby approved, and such addenda or modifications thereto as may be approved prior to the awarding of bids therefor. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accord- ance with said detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifica- tions as prepared by said Director, the public improvement here inabove mentioned and described, and fixing the 7th day of July 1960, at the hour of 2:00 otclock P.M. as 77 and hour for the opening of said bids at the City Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be published twice, the first of which publications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications shall be at least five (q days apart. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or bidders shall be requiredto enter into a contract with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction, installa- tion and completion of said public improvement hereinabove men- tioned and described, in accordance with the plans and specifica- tions prepared by said Director, the notice inviting sealed proposals, this resolution and all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws of the State of California, and shall be required to post bonds and insurance in the amounts and within the time required by law, as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in a form approved by the City Attorney.
