cause to be published in a newspaper of general circulation,
()rinted, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to "ri t:

furnishing the following:
All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment
and all utilities and transportation, including power,
fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to con-
struct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in
strict accordance with the specifications, plana and draw-
ings therefor on file in the Office of the City Clerk of
the City of Anaheim, the following pUblic improvement, to
wit: The construction, installation and completion of an
eighteen (18) inch steel cylinder concrete water line,
with valves, fittings and all appurtenances, in Ball Road,
620 feet West of Placentia Avenue, to Placentia Avenue,
continuing then in Placentia Avenue from Ball Road to
latella, in the City of Anaheim, Work Order No. 1438;
in accordance with the designs, plans, profiles and specifications
of said. public improvelilent on file in the Off~ ;e of the City Clerk
of the City of Anaheim; and

c8ived by the City Council of the City of Anah im at the Office of
the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim up to th~ hour of 7:00 o'clock

forming all work necessary to construct and complete, in a good an~

larly mentioned and described and which notice did state and declare
thQt )ursuant to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code,
the City Council of the City of Anaheim haC:, ascertained the prevailing
rate of vrages in the locality in which this type of labor is to be pe1-
formed for each craft or ty~)e of Horkman or mechanic needed to execute
tl1.e contract and cUd set forth the prevailing hourly "rage scale so
ascertained; and

WHEREAS, the City Council did thereupon refer said bids to
the City En2ineer for examination, tabulation
and report to the City Counoil, and said City Engineer
did examine and tabulate said sealed proposals and did report to the
Council the result of his examination and tabulation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the sealed proposal sub-
mitted by LEDFORD BROS., 2718 G~viota, Lon~ Beach 4. California.

is the lowest responsible proposal submitted for the furnishing of all
plant, labor, services, materials and 8Cltlipmer;t, all utilities and
transportation, includinrc, pOi'ler. f,te] .'lnd Viator and performing all work
necessary to construct and complete In a good and Vlorkmanlike manner
in strict accordance with the soecifleations, plans and drawings
therefor on file 1n the office of the 01 ty Clerk of the C1 ty of Ana-
heim of the public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described,
together with the appurtenances thereto and as s.pecified in the
notice inviting sealed proposals, and that said proposal of said
above named bidder should be accepted and a contract awarded to said
bidder in accordance therewith; and
WHEREAS, the City ConneLL finds that toe above mentioned
sealed proposal is the lowest re:3DonFl.bLe oroT;osal received and that
the person, firm or corporation submitting said ~roposal 1s a
responsible person, firm or corpoY'bt'CJl1 and that the proposal sub-
mitted is the best suited and fitted for the public improvement to
be constructed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM, that the sealed Droposal submitted by

for the furnishing of all plant, laboY', services, materials and
equipment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel
and water and performing all work necessary to construct and complete
in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the
specifications, plans, and drawings therefor cn file in the office
of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim and the notice inviting
sealed proposals, the public worl~s and improvements hereinabove more
particularly mentioned and described, together 1.-1ith the appurtenances
thereto, be, and the same is hereb:i accepted, and that a contract
for the construction and completior' of said public improvement be,
and the same is hereby, awarded to :;hc said above named bidder.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
bidders upon each contract awarded as hereinabove set forth shall
be, and they are hereby required -Co ex';cute a contract in the required

form with the City of Anaheim upon the terms and oonditions speoified
in the notice inviting sealed proposals and the proposal submitted
by said successful bidder or bidders and in accordance with the plans
and specifications for said public improvement hereinabove described
and in accordance with the terms, conditions and, provisions of this
resolution, and that said successful bidder or bidders to whom each
contract is awarded shall be required to furnish a surety bond in an
amount equal to one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price for
all labor, materials and equipment to be furnished and performed as
set forth in the sealed proposals submitted by said bidder for the
construotion of said publio improvement together with the appurtenances
thereto or such portion thereof as is covered by said contract as
seourity for the faithful performanoe of said contraot and a separate
surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred per cent (100%) of the
oonstruction cost of said public improvement covered by said oontract
as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furn-
ishing material for said projeot. .
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said: successful bidder or
bidders be, and they are hereby required to furnish to the Oity of
Anaheim in companies satisfactory to the City of Anaheim publio
liability, property damage, compensation, and other insuranoe in
t4e amounts and for the purposes as set forth and speoified in the
notioe inviting sealed proposals and subject to the approval of the
City Attorney as to form and sufficienoy.
, AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Olerk
of the City of Anaheim be, and they are hereby, authorized and direoted
to make, execute and enter into for and on behalf of the City of Ana-
heim B written contract with said successful bidder or bidders for the
furnishing of all plant, labor, materials, and equipment and performing
all work as hereinabove more particularly described for the construo-
tion, installation and completion of said public improvement herein-
above described upon the terms and conditions as specified in the
notice inviting sealed proposals, the detailed design, plans, profiles,
drawings and general specifications and detailed specifications and
drawings and all addenda thereto and all modifications incorporated
therein prior to the date of the opening of bids, on file in the office
of the Oity Clerk of the Oity of Anaheim and in strict accordance with
the terms, conditions and provisions of this Resolution, and in accord-
anoe with all the contract documents herein specified.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this
