,iHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did

All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment,
and all utilities and transportation, including power,
fuel and vfa ter, and 'Jerforminp all work necessary to
construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner,
in striet accordance ,'lith the specifications, plans and
drawings therefor on file in the Office of the City
Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following public im-
provement, to wit: The construction, installation and
completion of a sixteen (16) inch steel cylinder con-
crete water line in Lewis Street, complete with valves,
fittings and all appurtenances, from Ball Road to
Cerritos Avenue, also in Le.vis street from Cerri tos
Avenue to Katella, the construction, installation and
completion of a fourteen (lL) inch steel cylinder con-
crete water line .vith valves, fittings and all appurte-
nances, in the City of Anaheim, Work Order No. 1437,
in accordance with the designs, plans, profiles and specifications
of said public improvement on file in the Off< :e of the City Clerk
of the City of Anaheim; and

forming all work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and

larly mentioned and described and which notice did state and declare
th~t ~ursuant to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code,
the City Council of the City of Anaheim had ascertained the prevailing
rate of 'Hages in the locality in which this type of labor is to be per-
formed for each craft or tY~Je of T,forkman or mechanic needed to execute
tne contract and did set forth the prevailing hourly ~~ge scale so
ascertained; and

WHEREAS, the Oity Oouncil did thereupon refer said bids to
the City Eneineer tor examination, tabulation
and report to the City Oounoil, and said City En~ineer
dtd examine and tabulate said sealed proposals and did report to the
Oounoil the result of his examination and tabulation; and
WHEREAS, the Oity Oounci1 finds that the sealed proposal sub-
mitted by LEDFORD BROS.. 2718 Gaviota
Long Beach 4. California
is the lowest responsible proposal submitted for the furnishing of all
plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and
transportation, including power, fuel and water and performing all work
necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner
in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings
therefor on file in the office of the City Clerk of the Oi ty of Ana-
heim of the public improvement hereinabove mentioned and desoribed,
together with the appurtenances thereto, and as speoified in the
notioe inviting sealed proposals, and tr~t said proposal of said
above named bidder should be accepted and a contract awarded to said
bidder in accordance therewith; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the above mentioned
sealed proposal is the lowest responsible proposal received and that
the person, firm or corporation submitting said proposal is a
responsible person, firm or corporation and that the proposal sub-
mitted is the best suited and fitted for the public improvement to
be oonstruoted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM, that the sealed proposal submitted by
LEDFORD BROS., 2718 Gaviota
Long Beach 4, California
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel
and water and performing all work necessary to oonstruct and complete
in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the
speoifications, plans, and drawings therefor on file in the office
of the City Olerk of the City of Anaheim and the notice inviting
sealed proposals, the publiC works and improvements hereinabove more
particularly mentioned and described, together with the appurtenances
thereto, be, and the same is hereby, accepted, and that a contract
for the construction and completion of said pUblic improvement be,
and the same is hereby, awarded to the said above named bidder.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
bidders upon eaoh contract awarded as hereinabove set forth shall
be, and they are hereby reqUired to execute a contract in the required

form with the City of Anaheim upon the terms and conditions speoified
in the notioe inviting sealed proposals a~d the proposal submitted
by said sucoessful bidder or bidders and in accordance with the plans
and specifications for said pUblic impro~ement hereinabove described
and in aocordance with the terms, conditions and provisions of this
resolution, and that said successful bidder or bidders to whom eaoh
contract is awarded shall be req~ired to furnish a surety bond in an
amount equal to one hundred per cent (100%) of the oontraot price for
all labor, materials and equipment to be furnished and performed as
set forth in the sealed propOsals submitted by said bidder for the
construction of said pUblio improvement together with the aPPurtenances
thereto or such portion thereof as is covered by said oontract as
security for the faithful performance of said oontraot and a separate
surety bond in an amount equal to one hundre~ per cent (100%) of the
construction cost of said pUblic improvement covered by said oontraot
as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furn-
ishing material for said project. '
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said sucoessful bidder or
bidders be, and they are hereby required to ,furnish to the Oity of
Anaheim in companies satisfactory to the City ot Anaheim publio
liability, property damage, oompensation, and other insuranoe in
the amounts and for the purposes as set forth and ,specified in the
notioe inviting sealed proposals and subject to the approval of the
City 'Attorney as to form and sufficienoy,
AND 'BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Olerk
of the Oity of Anaheim be, and they are hereby, authorized and direoted
to make, "exeoute and enter into for and on behalf of the City of Ana-
heim 8 written contract with said successful bidder or bidders for the
furnishing of all plant, labor, materials, and equipment and performing
all work as hereinabove more particularly desoribed for the construo-
ti,on, installation and completion of said public improvement herein-
above desoribed upon the terms and conditions as speoified in the
notioe inviting sealed proposals, the detailed design, plans, prOfiles,
drawings and general specifications and detailed specifications and
drawings and all addenda thereto and all modifications incorporated
therein prior to the date of the opening of bids, on file in the office
of the City Olerk of the Oi ty of Anaheim and in strict aocordance wi th
the terms, conditions and prOVisions of this Resolution, and in aocord-
ance with all the contract documents herein specified.
