A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEYi FINDING AND DETER1 THAT THE
PURCHASE OF CAST IRON WATER PIPE AND FITTINGS
IS NECESSARY FOR THE WATER DEPARMENT; APPROV-
ING THE SPECIFICATIONS THEREOF; AND DIRECTING
THE PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR
THE FURNISHING OF SAID PIPE AND FITTINGS.
HEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that public convenience and necessity require the purchase
and acquisition of cast iron water pipe and fittings for
use by the l'ater Departrent of the City of Anaheim in the
amounts hereinafter specified; and
HLRES, the City Council does further find that
the specifications prepared and submitted to the City Council
by the Utilities Director for said pipe and fittings, entitled
"Specifications for Cast Iron ':ater Pipe, Series of 1960, City
of Anaheir.," are adequate for the purpose and shooid be ap-
proved; and
NEREAS, the Cit Council does find and detcrine
that a notice should be published inviiinE t2(aled proposals
for the Curnishing of said pipe and fittings in the amounts
hereinafter specified, and in accord:a-Ince with the specifica-
tions prepared by said Utilities Director and hereby approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anahein that all cast iron water pipe and fit-
tings hereinafter specified shall conform to the specifica-
tions therefor prepared by the Utilities Director of the City
of Anahei; and hereinabove approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there shall be purchased
for the Water DclartLent of the City af Anahein cast iron wa-
ter pipe and fittings in the following approximate quantities,
and of the following sizes and descriptions:
ITEI I 17,600 feet ef 12 inch cast iron pipe
ITEL 11 I2,900 feet ef 10 inch cast iron pipe
ITEL III 15,000 feet of 8 inch cast iron pipe
ITEL IV 4,500 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe
ITLI V 100,000 paunds of cost iron fittings
AND BE. IT FURTHER RESOLVD that the City Clerk be,
and she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish a notice
in the Anaheim Bulletin, in the manner and form as required
by law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of said
pipe and fittings above described, and directinc that said
sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the City
O'er-; of the City of Anaheim up to the hour of 2:00 P. N.
on the 3rd day of Noveber, 1960.
