1960-6235WHEREAS, the State of California and the City of
Anaheim contemplate the joint installation of traffic con-
trol signal systems and highway lighting at the intersections
of Knott _Avenue and Western Avenue- with State Highway Rout VII
Ora -178 -Ana, Bprr (Lincoln Avenue) within the, City of Anaheim;
and
WHEREAS, the State and City dsstr. -ta enter- into
an agreement for the construction and installation of said
signal systems and highway lighting and to arrange for the
maintenance functions that are to be performed by the State,
and to specify the proportionate share of the costs that
are to be borne by the City and the State, as more particu-
larly set forth in the form of agreement submitted to the
City by the State, entitled "Agreement #1096."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Counc i l
of the City of Anaheim that the agreement entitled "Agreement
#1096," submitted to the City of Anaheim by the State of Cal-
ifornia, Department of Public Works, Division of Highways,
to be made and entered into by and between the City and the
State, for the joint construction and installation of traffic
control signal systems and highway lighting at the intersec-
tions of Knott Avenue and Western Avenue with State Highway
Route VII -Ora -178 -Ana, BPk (Lincoln Avenue), all within the
City of Anaheim, be, and the same is hereby approved; and
that the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby author-
ized to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City
of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City shall pay its
share of the costs of construction and installation of said
traffic control signal systems and highway lighting as pro-
vided in said agreement, and estimated to be the sum of
$14,500, the actual amount to be determined after award and
completion of the construction contract, and shall also pay
its share of the cost of general maintenance and operation
of said traffic control signal systems and highway lightinc
as provided in that certain maintenance agreement entered
into between the City and the State dated July 1, 1953, and
referred to in Agreement ;#1096.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed
by me this 23rd day of August, 1960.
