A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM GRANTING DISNEYLAND, INC.,
A PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT AN OVERHEAD MONORAIL
ACROSS WEST STREET IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, Disneyland, Inc., owns and operates an
exhibition and amusement park which has gained international
recognition as an outstanding attraction; and
WHEREAS, the success of Disneyland, Inc., in its
endeavors has and shall continue to inure to the benefit of the
City of Anaheim, directly and indirectly, through recognition
as the home of Disneyland Park, and through increased business
activity; and
WHEREAS, Disneyland, Inc., proposes extending its
monorail system situated within Disneyland Park, to run across
West Street in the City of Anaheim, to the Disneyland Hotel and
return, recrossing West Street at another point to connect with
the existing monorail system within Disneyland Park, all at a
cost of approximately $1,900,000.00; and
WHEREAS, such extension of the monorail system is
considered to be beneficial to the City of Anaheim as recited
above, and will cause the City to become recognized as the
location of one of the first operational monorail systems.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of
Anaheim does hereby authorize and grant permission to Disneyland,
Inc. and /or its affiliated companies to erect and maintain in
connection with its monorail system and extension thereof,
overhead crossings at West Street, within the City of Anaheim,
at points approximately 80 feet and 810 feet south of the
intersection of the center line of West Street and Cerritos
Avenue, and further authorizes and grants its permission to
Disneyland, Inc. and /or its affiliated companies to construct
and erect within the boundaries of West Street at the approximate
points above designated, supporting members or pylons for the
support of the rail or beam way, all of the foregoing upon the
following conditions:
1. Such crossings and facilities appurtenant
thereto shall be constructed at the sole
expense of Disneyland, Inc., and /or its
affiliated companies.
2. Disneyland, Inc. shall indemnify and hold
the City of Anaheim harmless from any
liability resulting from the installation,
operation, or existence of the monorail
crossings on West Street.
3. That such crossings comply with all applicable
laws and ordinances relating to crossings
over streets and highways; and shall construct
and maintain such crossings and facilities
appurtenant to such crossings in a manner as
to avoid hazards to vehicular traffic, persons,
and property, and in compliance with regulations
and requirements of the City Engineer, Traffic,
and Police Departments of the City of Anaheim.

L}.. That Disneyland, Inc. obtain and maintain
in full force and effect during all times
that the monorail crossings are in existence,
a policy or policies of public liability
and property damage insurance in minimum
limits of $100,000.00 for injury to one
person arising from one incident and $300,000.00
for injury to two or more persons arising
from one incident and property damage in
the sum of $50,000.00, and insuring against
any claim for personal injury, property damage,
arising from the construction, maintenance,
or existence of said monorail crossings.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 27th day of December, 1960.

do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed and
adopted at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council
held on the 27th day of December, 1960, by the following vote
of the members thereof:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Chandler, Coons, Fry and Schutte.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Thompson.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of
Anaheim approved and signed said resolution on the 27th day of
December, 1960.
