A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF
$450.00 FROM THE CONTINGENCY FUND OF THE
CITY FOR MUSIC AND AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT
OF SAID SUM TO THE ANAHEIM CHORALEERS FOR
MUSIC AND PROMOTION.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is authorized by
Section 37110 of the Government Code of the State of Calif-
ornia to expend money for music and promotion; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Choraleers is a non profit
organization, organized and existing for the purpose of fos-
tering and developing music and presenting musical programs
to the citizens of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, said Anaheim Choraleers present musical
programs to the citizens of the City of Anaheim free of ad-
mission charge and conduct annually a series of music con-
certs; and
WHEREAS, certain expenses are incurred by the
Anaheim Choraleers in connection with the presentation of
said musical programs, and said Anaheim Choraleers have re-
quested the City of Anaheim to assist in the payment of a
portion of said expenses; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
does find that the presentation of the music programs is in
the best interest of the City and the citizens of the City
of Anaheim and that it would be in the interest of the City
and the citizens of Anaheim to assist said Anaheim Choral
eers financially for the continuance of said programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of
Anaheim that the sum of $450.00 be appropriated from the
contingency fund of the City of Anaheim and that said amount
be paid into the treasury of the Anaheim Choraleers to be
expended along with other sums in the treasury of the Ana-
heim Choraleers for the payment of necessary expenses in
connection with the presentation of music programs in the
City of Anaheim including expenses for orchestra compensa-
tion, orchestration rentals, printing of programs and posters
and expenses for stage decorations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said amount be paid
by the City Treasurer upon presentation of itemized expendi-
tures by the Anaheim Choraleers after said itemized expendi-
tures have been approved by the City Manager as proper ex-
penditures under this resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed
by me this 21st day of February, 1961.
