W~REAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find anQ determine that public convenience and necessity require the acquisition of materials, plant, labor and services for the public improvement consisting of the drilling of two 16-inch water wells and appurtenant work in connection therewith in the vicinity of West La Palma Avenue between Citron andWest Streets and on West Side of Placentia Avenue 600 feet South of Vermont Street in the City of Anaheim. i'lells to be designated as "Well No. 14" and IIWell No. 15" respectively; and ;'i'HEREAS, Section 1770 Of the Labor Code of the State of California requires that the City Council ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works and improvemen ts in the locali t,y in which the work is to be per- formed, for each craft or type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed for the execution of such public contracts and the making of such public improvements, and for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary for the execution and completion of said public contracts or improvements; ,'-' NOW ,~HEREFORE, BE IT' RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that, in accordance with the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the City Council has ascertained and does hereby determine the general prevailing ,rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public .'lorks and the public improvements, consisting of the drilling of two 16-inch water wells and appurtenant work in connection therewith in the vicinity of West La Palma Avenue between Citron and West Streets and on the West side of Placentia Avenue 600 feet South of Vermont Street, to be designated as lI\oIell No. 14" anCl "Well No. 15" respectively, in the City of Anaheim, Work Order No. 1415, Units C and D, in the locality in w'hich such warl;: :LS to be performed and each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed for the execution of public works contracts or contracts for furnishing of all plant, materials, labor, services and equipment for the public improvement consisting of the drilling of two 16-inch water wells and appurt- enant work in connectcL on there\d th in the vicinity of West La Palma Avenue between Citron and Hest Streets and on the West side of Placentia Avenue 600 feet South of Vermont Street, hereinabove mentioned, in the City of Anaheim, and that said prevailing rates so determined are as follows: -1- - TITLE OF POSITION HOURLY RATE OF PAY ,,-. Southern California Master Labor Agreement and Supplements, which shall govern for such overtime and double time pay, and for the wage scale for Foremen not otherwise listed above. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanl\:sgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If any of the [.,bove mentioned holidays, other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day, falls on Sunday, the Monday following shall be considered a legal holiday. The overtime rule establishin~ the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance vii th the following: Where a single sh::.ft is vlOrked, eight hours of continuous employment except for lunch periods, shall cons ti tute a day I s work, beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is reqJ.ired in excess of eight hours in anyone day or during the interval of time from 5:00 o'clock P. M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday night, such ,::ork shall be paid for at the minimum ,..-. -2- .- ,r-- rate of one and one-half (l~') times the basis rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimmfi rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May, 1956 revision of the A.G.C.-A.F.L. Southern California Master Labor Agreement and Supplement 8. Properly indentured apprentices to any of the trades listed above may be employed upon such public improvements with skilled workmen, subject to the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the wage rates for such apprentices to be de ermined as provided in said Section 1777.5.
