RESOLUTION NO'3472
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DIRECTING THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF
COMMERCE, BUREAU OF THE CENSUS OF THE UNITED
STATES, BE REQUESTED TO SUBMIT AN ESTIMATE FOR
CONDUCTIJIlG AND TAKING A SPECIAL CENSUS IN THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM, AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK
TO MAKE SUCH REQUEST.

WHEREAS, Article 1, Chapter 17, Part 2, Division 3, Title 4
of the Government Code of the State of California authorizes the taking
of a special census between the years of taking the federal census; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has, since the last census,
experIenced unusual and rapid growth due to increased development and
the annexation of new territories; and
~, the City Council of the City of, Anaheim does find
and determine that a special census is necessary and desirable at this
time and for the best interests of the City; and
~, the City Council finds that the Department of
Commerce, Bureau of the Census, should be requested to submit an estimate
of the cost of a special federal census to be taken and conducted in the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized
and directed to cOllllDllnicate with the Department of Commerce, Bureau of
the Census of the United States, and request said Bureau to submit an
estimate of the cost of a special federal census to be taken and conducted
in the City of Anaheim, based upon an estimated population of 60,000.
