A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THAT THE
LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES OF ORANGE
COUNTY MAKE A STUDY AND COMPARISON OF
THE RELATIVE COST TO THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE OF PROVIDING COUNTY SERVICES TO
INCORPORATED CITIES IN ORANGE COUNTY
AND THE QOST OF PROVIDING COUNTY SER-
VICES TO UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF
ORANGE COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Orange County
adopted their Resolution No, 61 -453 on May 3, 1961, adopting
the policy of the County of Orange relating to contracts with
cities situated within the County for police protection, care
and maintenance of city prisoners in the County Jail, charges
for Building and Safety Department services, and charges for
Planning Department Services; and
WHEREAS, said resolution provides that these costs
be paid by cities in addition to general tax levies imposed by
the County of Orange against cities located within the County
of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim in
order to determine the justification of such charges deems it
desirable that a study be made to determine the relative cost
to the County of Orange of providing County services to incor-
porated cities as compared to the cost of providing County
services to unincorporated areas of Orange County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the League of California Cities
of Orange County prepare a study and make written findings
concerning the cost to the County of Orange for County ser-
vices rendered to citizens living in unincorporated areas,
such County services to include police protection, care and
maintenance of city prisoners in the County Jail, charges
for Building and Safety Department services, and charges for
Planning Department services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all incorporated cities
in Orange County be requested to adopt similar resolutions.
urging said studies be made and that the City Clerk forward
a copy of this resolution to each of the incorporated cities
located within Orange County.,
