56R-3456 RESOLUTION NO. 3456 .~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETEffi~INING THAT PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUC- TION AND COI4PLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVE}~NT, TO WIT: A NEW 11-4 KV SUBSTATION ON THE EAST SIDE OF CLAUDINA STREET SOUTH OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY AND NORTH OF ELLSWORTH AVENUE, WORK ORDER NO. 2261, AND APPROVING THE PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF: AUTHORIZING THE CON- STRUCTION OF SAID PUcLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORD- ANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUB- LISH A NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF. WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the construction and completion of a public improvement in the City of Ane,heim, to wit: The designing, construction and completion of an 11-4 KV Substation on property owned by the City of Anaheim on the east side of Claudina Street, south of the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way and approxi- mately 320 feet north of the center line of Ellsworth Avenue, in the City of Anaheim, in accordance with plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk or the Superintendent of Light, Power and Water of the City of Anaheim, Work Order No. 2261. AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Superin- tendent of Light, Power and Water to prepare detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications, and estimates of quan- tities and costs, and make necess8xy surveys for the construc- tion of said public improvement; and WHEREAS, said Superintendent has prepared said detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for the construc- tion of said pUblic improvement and has submitted the same to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve- ment above mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the construction of said public improvement and should be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the detailed plans, profiles, drawings e,nc~ specifications for said public improvement hereinabove men- tioned and described be, and the sarne are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Superintendent. -1- - AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve- ment 8118011 be constructed in accordance with said detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by said Superintendent end hereby approved, and such addenda or modifications theret 0 8S ill1W be approved prior to the award- ing of bids therefor. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, 8nd she is hereby, authorized and directed to pUblish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the fL~niRhing of all plant, labor, services, materials 8nd equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance "Ii th said detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by said Superintendent, the pub- lic improvement hereinabove mentioned and described, and fixing the 25th day of September, 1956, at the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the opening of said bids at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be published twice, the first of which pUblications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the dat~,fixed for the ~?pening of bids, and that said publications sha~~ be at least Ilve (5) days apart.
