A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN AGREEMENT TO BE MADE
AND ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AND THE COUNTY .OF ORANGE_FOR THE
INSTALLATION.OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND INTER-
SECTION LIGHTING AT THE INTERSECTION OF.
BROOKHURST STREET AND CERRITOS AVENUE; AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID AGREE4ENT.

WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and County of Orange
contemplate installation of a fixed -time traffic signal
system and safety lighting at the intersection of Cerritos
Avenue and Brookhurst Street, a portion of which inter-
section is in the City of Anaheim and a portion of which
is in the County of Orange; and
WHEREAS, said City and County desire to enter
into an agreement for the construction and installation of
a traffic signal and intersection lighting, and to specify
the proportionate share of the costs that are to be borne
by the City of Anaheim and the County of Orange and to
provide for the maintenance of said traffic signal, as more
particularly set forth in the form of agreement submitted
to the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the agreement submitted to the
City Council to be made and entered into by and between the
City of Anaheim and the County of Orange for the construction,
installation and maintenance of a traffic signal and inter-
section lighting system at the intersection of Brookhurst
Street and Cerritos Avenue, upon the terms and conditions and
for the proportionate share of the costs set forth in said
agreement, and as hereinafter set forth, be and the same is
hereby approved. That said terms and conditions are as follows:
1. The City of Anaheim shall:
(a) Furnish the aforementioned fixed -time
traffic signal system and safety lighting through
construction by contracts and construction contrac-
tors, said contracts to be executed in conformity
with Section 1.12.050 of the Anaheim Municipal
Code; and the installation of said fixed -time
traffic signal system and safety lighting to be
accomplished in conformity with standard plans
and specifications on file in the Office of the
City Engineer, City of Anaheim.
(b) Bear the County's share of the expense of
preparation of plans and specifications, construc-
tion engineering, inspection and construction costs
to complete the traffic control signal system and
safety lighting referred to in said agreement; such
share to be twenty -five per cent (25%) of the total
of the aforementioned costs.
(c) Maintain and operate the entire fixed
time traffic signal system as constructed.

It is estimated that Countyts'share of the
cost will be $2,125.00; however, the actual amount
is tc be determined after completion of the con-
struction project.
(b) Reimburse said City for the Countyts pro-
portionate share'of the cost of general maintenance
and operation of the aforementioned fixed -time
traffic signal .system and safety lighting described
in said' agreement, which share shall be twenty -five
per cent (25%) of the total cast of general main-
tenance and operation of said signals.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that'theMayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 31st day of October, 1961.
2. The County of Orange shall:
(a) Reimburse said City of Anaheim, promptly
upon rendition of statement therefor, said Countyts
share of expense of preparation of plans and spec-
ifications, construction engineering, inspection
and construction costs to complete the fixed -time
traffic signal system and safety lighting referred
to in said agreement; such share to be twenty -five
per ''cent (25) of the total of the aforementioned
dOSts. -L
