1961-7273WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find and determine that_'it is_ necessary to install_ and maintain on the City Hall premises at 20.East Lincoln Avenue, Anaheim, California certain mechanical equipment to provide.the dial private branch exchange service necessary to serve the City, together with such minor additions to and changes in said mechanical equipment as the City may request from time to time to meet its requirements; and WHEREAS, The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company has this date submitted to the City a proposed contract to be made and entered into by and between the City and The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for the furnishing, installation, and maintenance of such equipment upon the terms and conditions set forth therein; and WHEREAS, said agreement provides that if said mechan- ical equipment is not retained by theCity in conjunction with said service for a period of five years, it shall pay to the said Telephone Company upon demand a basic termination charge of $8,930.00 less a credit of 1 /60th of said charge for each month said mechanical equipment is so retained; and WHEREAS, the City Council does find that said agreement so submitted is fair and reasonable and should be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the agreement this day submitted by the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for the fur- nishing, installation and maintenance in the City Hall at 204 East Lincoln Avenue, Anaheim, California of mechanical equipment required to provide the dial private branch exchange service required by the City together with such minor additions to and changes in said mechanical equipment as the City may from time to time request, be, and the same is hereby, approved and the Mayor and the City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
