A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM ACCEP'I'ING SEALED PROPOSAL
AND AWARDING CONTRACT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE
BIDDER FOR THE FURNISHING TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
OF REINFORCED CONCRETE STEEL CYLINDER PIPE AND
FITTINGS, WORK ORDER NO. 1425.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did
cause to be published in a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit,
the Anaheim Bulletin, on the 28th day of June and the 5th day of
July, 1956, a notioe inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing
to the City of Anaheim, in a:oproximate quanti ties, of the follow-
ing reinforced concrete cylinder pipe and fittings, including
rubber gaskets for installation:

AND WHEREAS, said notice did provide that said pipe
and fittings shall be in accordance with, oonform to, and comply
with "Interim Federal Speoification". Pipe: Pressure, reinforced,
concrete, pretensioned reinforcement (steel cylinder type) -
No. SS-P-00381 (GSA-FSS) issued April 2, 1953, and modified by
the following: Pipe shall be Class 150 for 150 pounds maximum
water working pressure; and

WHEREAS, such notice inviting sealed proposals for
said reinforced concrete steel cylinder pipe and fittings, in-
cluding rubber gaskets for installation, did provide that said
sealed proposals would be received by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk of said City
up to the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M. on Tuesday, the loth day of
July, 1956, for the furnishing to the City of Anaheim of said
pipe, fittings and gaskets; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim did
receive sealed Droposals prior to 7:00 o'clock P.M., Tuesday,
the lOth day of July, 1956, for the furnishing of said re-
inforced concrete steel cylinder pipe and fittings, including

AIID \mEREAS, the City Council did thereupon submit
all bids received to the City Engineer for tabulation and report
to the Cit~r Council, and said City Engineer having tabulated
said bids and having submitted his report, the City Council does
find that the sealed proposal of American Pipe and Construction
Company, P.O. Box 3428, Terminal Annex, Los Angeles 54, Calif-
ornia, is the lowest responsible bid for the furnishing of re-
inforced concrete steel cylinder pipe and fittings, including
rubber gaskets for installation, as specified in the notice
inviting sealed proposals and in accordance with the specifica-
tions set forth in said notice inviting sealed proposals, and
that said proposal of American Pipe and Construction Co., should
be accepted and a contract awarded to said company for furnishing
the pipe, fittings and gaskets required by the City of Anaheim.
Nm\[, Till:REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that said proposal submitted by the American
Pipe and Construction Co. for the furnishing of reinforced oon-
crete steel cylinder pipe and fittings, including rubber gaskets
for installation, as specified in the notice inviting sealed
proposals therefor, and in accordance with the specifications
set forth in said notice inviting sealed proposals, be, and the
same is hereby, accepted, and that a contract for the furnishing
of said pipe, fittings and gaskets be, and the same is hereby,
awarded to said American Pipe and Construction Co.; and
BE IT FURTHER R}:SOLVED that the award of a contract
to said American Pipe and Construction Co. is declared to be for
the approximate que.ntities set forth in the notice inviting
sealed proposals; and

BE rrr FURTHER RESOL\SD that said American Pipe and
Construction Co. be, and it is hereby, required to execute a
contract for the furnishing of said pipe, fittings and gaskets,
in form satisfactory to the City of Anaheim and upon the terms
and conQitions soecified in the notice inviting sealed proposals,
the proJosc,l submitted by it, this resolution, and in accordance
with the specifications for reinforced concrete steel oylinder
9ige ana fittings as set forth in said notice inviting sealed
proposals in all required sizes and lengths, at the prices as

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the
Ci ty of Anaheim that saht bid be, and the same is hereby, aocepted
and said contract awarded for the above specified reinforced con-
crete steel cylinder ;)ipe and fittings, including rubber gaskets
for installation, F.O.B. mill or point of shipment, with freight
allowed to trenchside, Anaheim, California, said pipe, fittings
and gaskets to be delivered as follows:
The design and layout drawings to be presented within
two weeks from receipt of plans and profile, and deliveries of
said pipe and fittings to be made within eighty five (85) days
after approval of layout drawings and receipt of order; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said contract shall oontain
a orovision that should said American PiDe and Construction Co.
fall or neglect to furnish said concrete-steel cylinder pipe,
gaskets and/or fittings in accordance with said specifications
