RESOLUTION NO. 62R -404
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
PURCHASE OF CAST IRON WATER PIPE AND FITTINGS
IS NECESSARY FOR THE WATER DEPARTMENT; APPROV-
ING THE SPECIFICATIONS THEREOF; AND DIRECTING
THE PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR
THE FURNISHING OF SAID PIPE AND FITTINGS.
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that public convenience and necessity require the purchase and
acquisition of cast iron water pipe and fittings for use by
the Water Department of the City of Anaheim in the amounts
hereinafter specified; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that
the specifications prepared and submitted to the City Council
by the Utilities Director for said pipe and fittings, entitled
"Specifications for Cast Iron Water Pipe, Series of 1962, City
of Anaheim," are adequate for the purpose and should be
approved; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that a notice should be published inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of said pipe and fittings in the amounts
hereinafter specified, and in accordance with the specifica-
tions prepared by said Utilities Director and hereby approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that all cast iron water pipe and
fittings hereinafter specified shall conform to the specifi-
cationstherefor prepared by the Utilities Director of the
City of Anaheim and hereinabove approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there shall be purchased
for the Water Department of the City of Anaheim cast iron
water pipe and fittings in the following approximate quantities,
and of the following sizes and descriptions:
6,000 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe
10,000 feet of 8 inch cast iron pipe
12,000 feet of 10 inch cast iron pipe
33,000 feet of 12 inch cast iron pipe
100,000 pounds of cast iron fittings.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be,
and she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish a notice
in the Anaheim Bulletin, in the manner and form as required
by law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of said
pipe and fittings above described, and directing that said
sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the City
Clerk of the City of Anaheim up to the hour of 2:00 P.M. on
the 24th day of May, 1962.
