A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED UP TO
THE HOUR OF 2:00 O'CLOCK P.M. ON SEPTEMBER 6,
1962, FOR PUBLIC WORKS JOB NO. 692.
WHEREAS, heretofore, to wit, on the 12th day of June,
1962, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt Resolu-
tion No. 62R -552 finding and determining that public convenience
and necessity did require the construction and completion of a
public improvement, to wit, Job No. 692; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did thereupon fix the 5th
day of July, 1962,at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date
and hour for opening of bids and did thereupon authorize and
direct the City Clerk to publish a notice according to law,
inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of all plant, labor,
services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and trans-
portation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all
work necessary to construct and complete said public improvement;
and
WHEREAS, no bids were received by the City of Anaheim
at the Office of the City Clerk up until the hour of 2:00 o'clock
P.M. on the 5th day of July, 1962, in response to the notice
published by the City Clerk on June 19th and 26th, 1962; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did thereafter, to wit, on
July 24, 1962, again direct the City Clerk to publish a notice
according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing
of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all
utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water,
and for the performance of all work necessary to construct and
complete the public improvement consisting of the construction
and completion of a rest room addition to the City Hall, Anaheim,
California, Job No. 692, and did fix the 6th day of September,
1962, at the hour of 2 :00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for
the opening of said bids; and
WHEREAS, upon said 6th day of September, 1962, at the
hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., the City Clerk and the City Engineer
did open all bids received up to that hour, in public, in the
City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, and the City Engineer did
tabulate all bids so received and did report the result thereof
to the City Council at its next regular meeting held on the
llth day of September, 1962; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that all bids
submitted are in excess of the estimate of the architect of the
cost of the said public improvement and that said bids should
all be rejected.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that all bids received on or before the 6th
day of September, 1962, tabulated by the City Engineer, and
submitted to the City Council on September 11, 1962, for the
construction and completion of the public improvement designated
as Job No. 692, be, and the same are hereby rejected.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 18th day of September, 1962.
