RESOLUTION NO. 3279
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ASSIGNING THE NAME "SOUTH MANCHESTER
AVENUEfI TO THE FRONTAGE ROAD LYING ON THE WEST
SIDE OF THE SANTA ANA FREEWAY BETWEEN I''lIDWAY
DRIVE AND RASTER STREET.
WHEREAS, on the 7th day of May, 1956, the City
Planning Commission did duly pass and adopt its Resolution
No. 175 -- Series 1955-56, finding that the frontage road
west of the Santa Ana Freeway between Midway Drive and
Haster Street has never been assigned a definite street
name; and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission did further find
that industry is to be looated on the west side of said road
and that it is neoessary to assign street numbers and a
street name to properly identify the exaot looation of said
industry, and that the assignment of a street name will re-
lieve a condition of oonfusion to industry, the publio, and
the postoffice department, and said Planning Commission did
recommend to the City Council that the name "South Manchester
Avenue" be assigned to said frontage road lying west of the
Santa Ana Freeway between Midway Drive and Haster Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Counoil does find that the
assignment of a street name to said frontage road will re-
sult in less oonfusion to industry, the public, and the
postoffice department, and that by reason of the foregoing
facts, public oonvenienoe and neoessity require that said
frontage road be assigned a definite street name.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the name "South Manchester Avenue"
be assigned to the frontage road lying on the west side of
the Santa Ana Freeway between Midway Drive and Haster Street,
and that henoeforth and hereafter suoh road shall be known
and designated upon all maps by the name "South Manchester
Avenue. "
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 8th day of May, 1956.
