RESOLUTION NO. 3262
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROPRIATING CERTAIN
FUNDS FOR ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, AND AUTHORIZING A
CONTRAOT i'lITH THE ANAHEH1 CHAMBER OF
COM1vfERCE FOR THE DOING OF SAID ADVERTIS-
ING, AND PROVIDING FOR COMPENSATION TO
THE CRAHBER OF cm-mERCE FOR SERVICES TO
BE RENDERED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEH1; AND
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 3054.
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, located
within the City of Anaheim, has special knowledge, experience
and facilities for promotion and advertising work; and
WHEREAS, trIe Oi t~r Council finds that it would be
for the best interest and welfare of the City of Anaheim and
the citizens thereof to appropriate funds for the promotion
and advertising of the City of Anaheim for the purpose of
inducing the immigration of industry, business and persons to
said City; and
vlHE.qEAS, the City Council finds that a great deal
of work is required to be done in the development and expan-
sion of industry and that the Chamber of Commerce of the City
of Anaheim is peculiarly fitted and equipped to perform such
work and render such services, and that it would be to the
advantage and best interest of the Oity of Anaheim to employ
the Chaillber of Commerce to render said services and to aid in
the promotion, advertising and expansion of industry in the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that certain sums of money to aid in
the promotion, advertising and expansion of the City of
Anaheim be appropriated and set aside for the following pur-
poses, and in the following amounts, to be expended during
the ueriod cO~llencing January 1, 1956 and ending June 30,
1956~:
For the printing and distribution of maps,
pamphlets, brochures and other printed
material, and for the collection and dis-
semination of factual data, information
and statistics concerning Anaheim, the
sum of . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 2,)20.40

For transportation expenses, labor and
office expenses in the rendition of
services in the development and expan-
sion of industry and in the development
and expansion of a tourist and convention

BE IT FURTh~ RESOLVED that the Anaheim Chamber of
Oommerce be, and it is hereby, employed for the follOWing

purposes and to render the following services:
1. To render services in the development and
expansion of industry by obtaining and
furnishing to the City Council information
and data relative thereto.
2. To render services in the development and
distribution of maps, broqhures, pamphlets,
and other printed material and the
collection and dissemination of factual
data, information and statistics oonoerning
Anaheim.
3. To aid in &nd carryon the work of inducing
immigration of industry, business and persons
to the City of Anaheim.
4. To perform such other services from time to
time as the City illay require.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the funds hereinabove
appropriated and set aside shall be paid out upon demands
presented to the City and audited by it as required by law,
and shall be supported by a statement of said Anaheim
Chamber of Commeroe showing the amount of liability incurred
as the basis of said olaim. That said demands shall be
presented monthly to the City Council. Any expenses in
addition to said amounts set forth herein shall be paid by
said Anaheim Chamber of Commerce.
AND BE IT FUnTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the
City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized, and directed
to enter into a written agreement with the Anaheim Chamber
of Commerce, a copy of which is hereto attached and made a
part hereof, for the term January 1, 1956 to June 30, 1956,
both dates inolusive, and. from month to month thereafter
until terminated by ~rri tten notice by either party.
RESOLUTION NO. 3054 is hereby resoinded.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 1st day of May, 1956.
