1955-3058A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE 'AID FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN, OR L CHANIC NEEDED FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS, PLANT, LABOR AND SERVICES FOR THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLE- TION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, TO WIT: A STEEL -DECK GRAND STAND AT LA PALMA PARK, IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, OR OTHER SITE, AS DETERKINED BY THE CITY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find and determine that public convenience and necessity require the acquisition of materials, plant, labor and services for a public improvement consisting of the acquisition, construction and completion of a steel -deck grand stand, with press box, with a seating capacity of 4,600 to 7,000 people, at La Palma Park in the City of Anaheim, or other site, as determined by the City; and WHEREAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California recuires that the City Council ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works and im- provements in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed for the execution of such 1,ublic contracts and the making of such public improvements, and for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary for the execution and compltion of such con- tracts or improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that, in accordance with the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the City Council has ascertained and does hereby determine the general prevailing rate of hourly was and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works, and the public im- provement consisting of the acquisition, construction and com- pletion of a steel -deck rgrand stand, with press box, with a seating capacity of 4,600 to 7,000 people, at La Palma Park in the City of Anaheim, or other site, as determined by the City, in the locality in which such work is to be performed, for each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed for the execution of public works contracts or contracts for furnishing all plant, labor, materials, services and equipment for the public improvement consisting of the acquisition, con- struction and completion of a steel -deck grand stand at La Palma Park in the City of Anaheim, or other site, as determined by the City, and that said prevailing rates so determined are as follows: CLASSIFICATION Welders Structural Iron Workers Boiler Makers RESOLUTION NO. 3058 HOURLY RATE OF PAY $3.271 3.25 3.271 ATTEST: CLASSIFICATION (Cop t' d) HOURLY RATE OF PAY Boiler Makers Helper $2.972 Laborers 2.20 Crane Operators 3.2L.. Carpenters EJ 1 2.90 Cement Finishers 2.822 Painters Spray Gun 3.15 Brush 2.90 Sand Blasters 3.15 All foremen, unless separately classified, shall be paid as provided in the September 15; 1955 revision of the A.G.C. A.F.L. Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Apprentices may employed in conformity with Section 1777.5 of the California Labor Code. The rates of per diem wages for each of the various classifications of work shall be the hereinbefore set forth prevailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work, it being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of em- ployment bears to eight hours. The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous em- ployment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning, on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Wh-re work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5 :00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12 :00 o'clock micnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one -half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the September 15, 1955 revision of the A.G.C. A.F.L. Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Years Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays, other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day, falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday. IT SHALL BE MANDATORY upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract, THE _FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this 27th day of December, 1955. :RK G MAYOR OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
