A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE CON-
STRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF A PRE -TIiD
TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL SYSTEM AT THE INTER-
SECTION OF SOUTH STREET WITH STATE HIGHWAY
ROUTE VII -ORA -2 -ANA, LOS ANGELES STREET,
WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM; AND AUTHORIZING
THE PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF ITS
PROPORTIONATE COST OF SUCH INSTALLATION.
WHEREAS, the State of California and the City of
Anaheim contemplate modification of a pre -timed traffic
control signal system at the intersection of South Street
with State Highway Route VII -Ora -2 -Ana, Los Angeles Street,
within the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the State and City desire to enter into
an agreement for the construction and installation of said
traffic control signal system, and to provide for the
maintenance functions that are to be performed by the State
and the City, and to specify the proportionate share of the
costs that are to be borne by the City and the State, as
more particularly set forth in the form of agreement sub-
mitted to the City by the State.
NOW, THEREFO RE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the City be, and it is hereby,
authorized to enter into an agreement with the State of
California, in the usual and customary form used and pro-
vided by the State of California in such matters, for the
joint modification, installation and construction of a pre
timed traffic control signal system at the intersection of
South Street with State Highway Route VII -Ora -2 -Ana, Los
Angeles Street, within the City of Anaheim, upon the terms
and conditions set forth in said agreement, and upon the
further condition that the contract or contracts for the
modification, installation and construction of said pre
timed traffic control signal system be awarded by the State
to the lowest responsible bidder, after the publication of
a notice inviting sealed proposals therefor, as provided in
Chapter 3, Part 5, Division 3, Title 2, Section 14.290, and
as provided in Sections 37902 and 37903 of the Government
Code of the State of California.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City shall pay
its share of the costs of construction and installation of
said pre -timed traffic control signal system as provided in
said agreement, and estimated to be the sum of $175.00, the
actual amount thereof to be determined after award and com-
pletion of the construction contract.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the
City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute
said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 11th day of October, 1955.
