A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DENYING VARIANCE NO. 142.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City
of Anaheim did receive a petition from the owner and /or agent
of certain real property situated in the City of Anaheim,
County of Orange, State of California, described as follows:
Lot No. 7, Block 8, Orange County Assessorts
Map, Book 71, Page 06; said property being
located near the northwest corner of Manchester
Avenue and Gilbert Street.
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on
September 6, 1955, notices of which said public hearing were
duly given as required by law and the provisions of Section
9200.17 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, said City Planning Commission, after due
inspection, investigation and studies made by itself and in
its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and
reports offered at said hearing, did adopt Resolution No. 33,
Series 1955 -56, granting said Variance No. 112 for a period
of five (5) years; and
WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty (20) days from
the date of the adoption of said resolution, the City Council
did elect, upon its own motion, to review the action taken by
the City Planning Commission in granting said variance for a
period of five (5) years, and did set a public hearing thereon
to be held on the llth day of October, 1955 at 7:00 o'clock
P.M., in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and notice of
such public hearing was duly given as required by law and the
provisions of Section 9200.17 of the Anaheim Municipal Code;
and
WHEREAS, after due investigation and studies made by
itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all
the evidence and reports offered at said hearing, the City
Council does find and determine that:
1. There is no substantial property right pos-
sessed by other property in the same vicinity
and zone and denied the subject property.
2. It appears that the subject property can be
adequately developed and used under the
present zone.
NOW, TII. RLFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the action of the City Planning
Commission granting Variance No. 142, requesting permission
to erect a directional sign 12' x 48t on the above described
property, be, and the same is hereby disapproved, and said
variance is hereby denied.

THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me

AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of
