A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A BOULEVARD STOP SIGN ON
NORTH LEMON STRoxT AT THE INTERSECTION OF
NORTH LEMON AND WEST CHARTRES STREETS.
WHEREAS, Section 465, Subdivision "B," of the
California Vehicle Code provides that local authorities in
their respective jurisdiction shall have authority to place
and maintain, or cause to be placed and maintained, such
traffic signs as may be necessary to indicate and to carry
out the provisions of the California Vehicle Code and
local traffic ordinances, or to regulate, warn or guide
traffic; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Municipal Code, Section 3213,
provides that the City Council shall, by resolution, de-
termine and designate the character of all official warning
and direction signs and signals; and
WHEREAS, there is presently under way and in progress,
reconstruction of buildings at the northwest corner of North
Lemon and Chartres Streets which, because of temporary struc-
tures located on said corner, has created a traffic hazard by
blocking and blinding the vision of eastbound traffic on
Chartres Street at said intersection; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that to eliminate
such traffic hazard and promote the safety and welfare of
citizens and residents of the City of Anaheim, a boulevard
stop sign should be established and maintained on North Lemon
Street, on the north side, at the intersection of North Lemon
and Chartres Streets, in the City of Anaheim, until such time
as said temporary structures located on the northwest corner
of said intersection are removed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the Chief of Police be, and he
is hereby, authorized and directed to place and maintain a
boulevard stop sign on North Lemon Street, on the north side
thereof at the intersection of North Lemon and Chartres
Streets, in the City of Anaheim, until such time as said
temporary structures located on the northwest corner of said
intersection are removed.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 6th day of September, 1955.
