A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CLAUDINA STREET WARE-
HOUSE AT THE CITY YARD ON CLAUDINA STREET;
AND DECLARING TEAT THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
CAN BE PERFORMED MORE ECONOMICALLY BY DAY
LABOR, AND THAT MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES THERE-
FOR CAA BE FURNISHED AT A LOWER PRICE IN THE
OPEN MARKET; AND AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION
THEnEOF BY DAY LABOR AND THE PURCHASE OF
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES THEREFOR IN TEE OPEN
MARKET.
WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore pass and
adopt Resolution No. 2875 finding and determining that public
convenience and necessity required the construction and com-
pletion of the Claudina Street Warehouse at the City Yard on
Claudina Street, Anaheim, California, including all appurtenant
work, Job No. 367 Unit "A," Special Improvement Fund; approv-
ing detailed designs, plens„ profiles, drawings and specifica-
tions for said public improvement; authorizing the construction
thereof; and authorizing and directing the City Clerk to publish
a notice inviting sealed proposals for the construction thereof,
and to set a date for the opening of bids received thereon; and
WHEREAS, pursuant thereto, the City Clerk did cause a
notice to be published according to law, inviting sealed bids
for the construction thereof and fixing the 23rd day of August,
1955, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the opening
of said bids at the City Council Chambers in the City Hall, in
the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, on the day and hour set therefor, all bids
were received, opened and inspected by the City Council, and
all of said bids were found to be excessive and far beyond the
anticipated cost of said project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
the construction and completion of said warehouse can be per-
formed more economically by day labor, and that materials and
supplies therefor can be furnished at lower prices in the open
market.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TiiE CITY COUNCIL
OF 11,: CI:Y OF ANAILEIM that all of said bids be, and they are
hereby, rejected; and that the construction and completion of
said. Claudina Street Warehouse at the City Yard on Claudina
Street, Anaheim, California, in accordance with the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said
warehouse, be and the same is hereby authorized by day labor,
and that the necessary materials and supplies therefor shall
be purchased in the open market,
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 6th day of September, 1955.
