A RESOLUTION O P THE CITY COUNCIL 0P THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID FOR EACH CRA FT, OR TYPE OF WORKMAN, OR MECHANIC NEEDED FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS PLANT LABOR AND SERVICES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF THE CLAUDINA STREET WAREHOUSE AT THE CITY YARD ON CLAUDINA STREET, ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find and determine that public interest and necessity require the acquisition of materials, plant, labor and services for a Public improvement consisting; of the construction and completion of the Claudina Street Warehouse at the City Yard on Claudina Street, in the City of Anaheim; and tTEREAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California requires that the City Council ascertain and de- termine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works and im- provements in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed for the execution of such public contracts and the making of such ?public improvements, and for the furnishing of all Plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary for the execution and completion of such public contracts or improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that, in accordance with the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the City Council has ascertained and does hereby determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works, and the oublic im- provement consisting of the construction and completion of the Claudina Street Warehouse at the City Yard on Claudina Street, in the City of Anaheim, in the locality in which such work is to be performed, and each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed for the execution of public works contracts or contracts for furnishing all plant, materials, labor, services and equipment for the public improvement consisting of the construction and completion of the Claudina Street Warehouse at the City Yard on Claudina Street, in the City of Anaheim, and that said prevailing rates so determined are as follows: CLASSIFICATION HOURLY RATE OF PAY Carpenters: Carpenter 2.85 Floor Layer 3.06 Table Power Saw Operator 2 .94 Millwright 3.06 Saw Filer 2 .94 Cement Finishers: Cement Finisher 2.785 Cement Finisher (Composition or Mastic) 2.905 Cement Floor Finishing Machine Operator 2.955 Iron Workers: Reinforcing Iron Worker 2,85:: Welder: Same wage scale as craft to which welding is incidental. Negotiating CLASSIFICATION HOURLY RATE OF PAY Plus fringe labor costs as set forth in Southern California Master Labor Agreement dated June 15, 1955. 3.10 2.85 3.59 3.34 All foremen, unless separately classified, shall of be ;paid as provided in the June 15, 1955 revision o1_ the A.G.C. A.F.L. Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Apprentices may be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5 of the California Labor Code. The rates of per diem wages for each of the various classifications of work shall be the T -:er. einbefore set forth prevailin rates of :sourly .rages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work, it being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem was shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the nuinror of hours of em- ployment bears to eight hours. The overtime rule establi shin the rates of over- time and holiday work shall be in accordance with the follow- ing: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of con- tinuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work be-inning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or dv the interval of time from 5:00 o'clock R.A Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the min rate of one and one -half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the June 15, 1955 revision of the A.G.C.- A.I.L. Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Holidays as heroin referrer_ to s all be deemed to be New Years Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Th anks Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays, other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day, falls on Sunday, the folio-fin Monday shall be considered a le al holiday. IT SHALL :i MANDATORY upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates of wales to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
