RESOLUTION NO. 2862
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DESIGNATING AND DECLARING WALNUT
STREET, FROM MANCHESTER AVENUE TO BALL ROAD,
TO BE A THROUGH HIGHWAY, AND REQUIRING ALL
VEHICLES TO STOP BEFORE ENTERING OR CROSSING
THE SAME.
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that vehicular
traffic upon Walnut Street, from Manchester Avenue to Ball
Road, has greatly increased, and as a result of such increase
the hazard of accidents and injuries to persons and damage to
property has been greatly increased, and that it would promote
the safety and general welfare of the '%ublic, and particularly
the people traveling upon said highway, if it were designated
as a through highway between said points.
NOW, THEREFOIE, BE IT R7_;SOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that Walnut Street, from Manchester
Avenue to Ball Road, in the City of Anaheim, be and the same
is hereby designated and declared to be a throu highway,
and that all vehicles shall be required to stop before enter
in=_, or crossing; said Walnut Street between said designated
points; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of
the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to erect stop signs upon all intersections entering
said Walnut Street between Manchester Avenue and Ball Road.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 19th day of July, 1955.
