A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COU I\tCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF BOULEVARD STOP SIGNS ON SANTA
ANA STREET AT THE INTERSECTION OF SANTA ANA AND
LEMON STREETS, AND ON WESTMONT DRIVE AT THE
INTEHSECTION OF WESTMONT DRIVE AND LOARA STREET.
WHEREAS, Section 465, Subdivision "B," of the
California Vehicle Code provides that local authorities in
their respective jurisdiction shall have authority to place
and maintain, or cause to be placed and maintained, such
traffic signs as may be necessary to indicate and to carry
out the provisions of the California Vehicle Code and local
traffic ordinances, or to regulate, warn or guide traffic;
and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Municipal Cede, Section 3213,
provides that the City Council shall, by resolution, de-
termine and designate the character of all official warning
and direction signs and signals; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that to eliminate
traffic hazards and promote the safety and welfare of
citizens and residents of the City of Anaheim, boulevard
stop signs should be established and maintained on Santa
Ana Street at the intersection of Santa Ana and Lemon Streets,
and on Westmont Drive at the intersection of Westmont Drive
and Loara Street, in the City of Anaheim;
NOW, TH EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the Chief of Police be, and he
is hereby, authorized and directed to place and maintain
boulevard stop signs on Santa Ana Street, on both sides, at
the intersection of Santa Ana and Lemon Streets, and a
boulevard stop sign on Westmont Drive, on the east side,
at the intersection of Westmont Drive and Loara Street, in
the City of Anaheim; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the stop signs so es-
tablished and maintained shall conform to the regulations
of the California Vehicle Code as to size and design.
