1955-2857WH_ EAS, the County of Orange has, pursuant to a
resolution of the Board of Supervisors, adopted July 5,
1955, entered into an agreement with the State of California,
Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, for the
installation of a semi- traffic actuated traffic control
signal system at the intersection of Ball Road with State
Highway Route VII Ora- l74-A (Manchester Avenue) within the
County of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the intersection at which said traffic
control signal system is to be installed is within the City
Limits of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the greatly increased traffic in said
vicinity requires the installation of said traffic control
system without delay; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange has requested the
City of Anaheim to let the contract for the installation and
construction of said traffic control system and supervise
the installation thereof in accordance with the agreement
made and entered into by and between the County of Orange
and the State of California above referred to; and that upon
the completion of said work and its approval by the State
and the County, the County agrees to pay to the City the cost
of said work in furnishing, installing and constructing said
traffic control signal system; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that it would
be to the advantage and for the best interest of the City of
Anaheim and public safety and general welfare to enter into
a contract with the County of Orange for the installation by
the City of said traffic control signal system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the agreement executed by the
County of Orange on the 5th day of July, 1955 and this day
submitted to the City Council, for the furnishing, instal-
lation and construction of a traffic control signal system
as provided by that certain agreement made and entered into
by and between the County of Orange and the State of Cali-
fornia, Department of Public Works, Division of Highways,
for the insta l ation of a semi- traffic actuated traffic con-
trol signal system at the intersection of Ball Road with
State Highway Route VII Ora- 174-A (Manchester Avenue) within
the County of Orange, be and the same is hereby approved; and
that the Mayor and the City Clerk be, and they are hereby,
authorized to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the
City of Anaheim.
