1955-2825WHEREAS, portions of Harbor Boulevard between the
Santa Ana Freeway and Katella Avenue, and South West Street
between Ball Road and Katella Avenue are public streets lying
within the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the rapid and extensive commercial growth
and development of the surrounding area will cause, in the
near future, a tremendous increase in traffic on said streets;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that for the protection and benefit of motorists and pe-
destrians using said streets, to provide for the maximum
degree of safety, and to facilitate a safe and efficient flow
of traffic thereon, it is necessary and imperative that certain
traffic regulations be imposed; and
WHEREAS, Section 459.8 of the Vehicle Code of the
State of California authorizes cities to prohibit, by resolu-
tion, the parking or standing of vehicles on streets or high-
ways, or portions thereof, at all, or during certain hours of
the day;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the parking or standing of vehicles
upon or along any portion of Harbor Boulevard lying within the
city limits, between the Santa Ana Freeway and Katella Avenue,
and along any portion of South West Street lying within the
city limits, between Ball Road and Katella Avenue, is hereby
prohibited; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of
the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to place, erect and maintain along said streets, at
nor more than one hundred fifty (150) feet apart, appropriate
signs designating the provisions hereof.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
