A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DETERMINING THE NECESSITY FOR AND
DIRECTING THE ACQUISITION BY EMINENT DOMAIN
OF REAL PROPERTY FOR THE WIDENING AND IMPROVE-
MENT OF WEST STREET.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement partly within
the County of Orange and partly within the City of Anaheim, to

;HEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that it
would be to the advantage and for the best interest of the City
of Anaheim to construct said improvement jointly with the County
of Orange, and that the County pay the cost of improvement of
that portion of said improvement situated within the County at
the present time, and that the City pay the cost of improvement
of that portion of the area situated within the City Limits; and
that the City of Anaheim should be designated as the contracting
agent to do and perform all acts necessary for the construction
and completion of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, public interest and necessity require the
acquisition of all that certain real property herein described,
by the City of Anaheim for the right of way to widen and improve
West Street from Ka.tella Avenue to Bali Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that public interest and
necessity require the acquisition of that certain real property
situated in the City of .Anaheim, County of Orange, more particu-
larly described as follows, to wit:
PARCEL 1: The Easterly ten (10) feet of the
Westerly forty (40) feet of the North half of
the Southwest quarter of the Southwest quarter
and the North one (1) foot of the South half of
the Southwest quarter of the Southwest quarter
of Section 22, in Township 4 South, Range 10
West, in the Rancho San Juan Cajon de Santa Ana,
in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State
of California., as shown on a map thereof recorded
in Book 51, page 7, et seq., lascellaneous Maps,
Records of said Orange County;
EXCEPTING THEREFROM that certain parcel of land
described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Southwest
quarter of the Southwest quarter of said Section
22, and running thence East 100 feet; thence South
30 feet; thence West 100 feet; thence North 30 feet
to the point of beginning.
PARCEL 2: The Easterly ten (10) feet of the
Westerly forty (40) feet of that portion of the
North half of the Southwest quarter of the South
west quarter of Section 22, in Township 4 South,
Range 10 West, in the Rancho San Juan Cajon de
Santa Ana, in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange,

State of California, as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Book 51, Page 7, et seq., Miscellaneous
Maps, records of said. Orange County, described as
follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Southwest
quarter of the Southwest quarter of said Section
22, and running thence East 100 feet; thence South
30 feet; thence West 100 feet; thence North 30
feet to the point of beginning.
PARCEL 3:
(A)
The Easterly ten (10) feet of the Westerly forty
(40) feet of the Northerly six hundred twenty (620)
feet of the South half of the Southwest quarter of
the Southwest quarter of Section 22, Township 4
South, Range 10 West, in the Rancho San Juan Cajon
de Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
as said section is shown on a map recorded in Book
51, Page 10 of Miscellaneous Maps in the Office of
the County Recorder of said County.
EXCEPT the North one (1) foot thereof.
Said land is registered under the Land Title Law.
(B)
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Section 21,
Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base
and Meridian, said corner being the intersection of
the center lines of West Street and Katella Avenue;
thence, Westerly, along the center line of Katella
Avenue and the South line of said Section 21, a
distance of 150.00 feet to a line, said line being
at right angles to the above described center line;
thence, Northerly, along said last mentioned right
angle line, a distance of 40.00 feet to the true
point of beginning of this description; thence,
continuing Northerly, along said last mentioned
right angle line, a distance of 20.00 feet to a
line parallel with and 60.00 feet Northerly, measured
at right angles, from the center line of Katella
Avenue; thence, Easterly, along said last mentioned
parallel line, to a point 55.00 feet Westerly,
measured at right angles, from the center line of
West Street; thence, Northeasterly, in a direct
line, to the intersection of a line parallel with
and 75.00 feet Northerly, measured at right eng''es,
from the center line of Katella .Avenue with a line
parallel with and. 40.00 feet Westerly, measured at
right angles, from the center line of West Street;
thence, Southerly, along said last mentioned parallel
line, to f= line parallel with and 40.00 feet Northerly,
measured at right angles, from the center line of
Katella Avenue; thence, Westerly, along said last
mentioned parallel line, to the true point of begin
ning of this description.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
find and determine that public interest and necessity require
the acquisition of said land by the City of Anaheim for the con-
struction and completion of the aforesaid project and the taking
of the property hereinabove described is necessary therefor; and
that the use to which it is to be applied is a use authorized by
law and the taking of said property is necessary to such use.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that said property
be acquired by the City of Anaheim, and the City Attorney of
the City of )thaheim is hereby directed to institute action in
eminent domain for the acquisition of the title to said property,
and to perform and carry out all the necessary proceedings and
steps incident to the acquiring of the title to said property,
and to obtaining of immediate possession thereof.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is aporoved and. signed by me
this 12th day of May, 1955.
