1955-2722RESOLUTION NO. 2722 A ESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING THE TERRITORY AS THE RI CHi+'IELD ANNEXATION; DE:CRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, hOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim dic, on the 21st day of April 19 55 receive a written petition asking that certain new territory described i�.. said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commissiot of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries; and WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un- inhabited territory, and said petition contained a description of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution described; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- received that at the time of the filing and receipt of saia petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one- fourth of the area and not less than one fourth of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess- ment roll; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- perts received and from said petition that at the time of the f..1ing and presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un- inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as .follows, to wit: RICHFIELD ANNEXATION A parcel of land being a portion of the West z of East 2 of NE4 of SW4 of Section 8, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more particularly described as followsa Beginning at an angle point in the existing Anaheim City Limits line as established by the Lincoln Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 40 as passed by Ordinance No. 888 on March 23, 1954 and filed with the Secretary of State on April 26, 1954; said point being the intersection of a line parallel to and 20.00 feet southerly of the northerly line of NE4 of SW4 of said Section 8 (said northerly line also being the centerline of Crescent Avenue) and the easterly line of 4 of E- of NE4 of SWe of said Section 8; thence, 1. Southerly 1300 feet, more or less, along said existing City Limits line and easterly line of said 4 of E2 of NE4 of SW4 of Section 8 to the southeast corner of said parcel of land; thence, 2. Westerly 330 feet, more or less, along southerly line of said 4 of E-- of NE4 of SW4 of Section 8 to the southwest corner of said parcel of land; thence, 3. Northerly 1300 feet, more or less, along westerly line of said 4 of E4 of NE4 of SW4 of Section 8 to said line parallel to and 20.00 feet southerly of northerly line of NE4 of SW4 of Section 8; thence, 4. Easterly 330 feet, more or less, along said parallel line to the point of beginning. NOW, IH:E -c TORE, BE IT RESOLVED a Y THE CITY COUNCIL THE CITY C ANAHEIM: i ,t That such proposed annexation be designated as "LICHFIELD ANNEXATION," and that notice of such pro- posed annexation be and the same is hereby given; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 1.st day of May 19 at the hour of :700 o'clock P at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Any heim, be and the sane is hereby fixed as the clay, hour and place when and There any person owning real property within said terri- tory so cr•oposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City_ Council of the Oity of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such pro- posed annex:u.tion are Hereby notified to appear on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed; and E IT FU;:T'HEF RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and sthe le riereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a ''rock, -3- ATTEST: in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim, to wit: The Cypress Enterprise and that such publication shall be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of hearing hereinabove specified. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk; and in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such proposed annex- ation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County. The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
