1955-2721RESOLUTION NO. 2721 A :;1S0LUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAhEIIJI ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING THE TERRITORY AS THE GILBERT STREET NO, 2 ANNEXATION; DEC,CRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, hOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY iJITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim dice on the 21st day of April 19 55 receive a written petition asking that certain new territory described i�.. paid petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commissiot of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries; and WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un- inhabited territory, and said petition contained a description of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution described; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- received that at the time of the filing and receipt of saiu. petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one- fourth (4) of the area and not less than one fourth of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess- ment roll; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- ports received and from said petition that at the time of the filing and presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un- in'rabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory so pro used to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to wit: GILBERT STREET NO. 2 ANNEXATION A parcel of land being a portion of Sections 18 and 1'), Township 4 Scutb Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more particularly de_Gerih d as follows: Beginning at the most southeasterly corner of Lot 4 Block A of Tract No. 787 as recorded in Book 24 at Page 9, Misce1] atxe ms Maps. Records of Orange County; thence, 1. Northerly 1290 feet, more or less, along easterly line of said Tract No, 787 to the most northeasterly corner of said Tract No. 787, said point also being in the southerly line of Tract No. 796 as Recorded in Book 24 at Page 28 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County; thence, 2. Westerly 30 feet, more or less, along northerly line of said Tract No, 787 and southerly line of Tract No. 796 to the sou herb prolongation of the easterly line of Lots 12 through 20 of said Tract No. 796; thence, 3. Northerly 1080 feet, more or less, along said easterly line and southerly prolongation to the southeasterly corner of Lot No. 22 of said Tract No. 796; thence, 4, Westerly 280 feet, more or less, along southerly line of Lots 22 and 21 of said Tract No, 796 to a point cf intersection with a line 10,00 feet easterly as measured at right angles from the westerly line of said Lot 21; thence, 5, Northerly 260 feet, more or less, along said line parallel to westerly line of Lot 21 and its northerly prolongation to a point in the northerly line of NH- of SW cf Section 18, T4S, Py0tid, SBBM, said northerly line being the centerline of Orange Avenue; thence, 6. Continuing northerly 20 feet, more or less, along said northerly prolongation to a point 20.00 feet northerly as measured at right angles from said northerly line of NE* of SW of Section 18, T4S, RIOW, SBBM, and said center-, l:..ne of Orange Avenue, said point being on the existing Anaheim City Limits Line as established by the Grivey Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation. No. 45 as passed by Ordinance No. 930 on September 28, 1954 and filed with the Secretary of State cn November 1, 1954; thence, 7. Easterly 312 feet, more or less, along a line parallel to and 20.00 feet northerly of said northerly line of NE* of SW* of Section 18, T4S, R1OW, SBBM and on southerly line of said Grivey Annexation to the most southeasterly corner of said Grivey Annexation, said point also being the most m uthwesterly corner of the Gilbert Street Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 37 as passed by Ordinance No, 868 on November 24, 1953 and filed with the Secretary of State on January 11, 1954; thence, 8. Continuing easterly 645 feet more or less, along southerly line of said Gilbert Street Annexation and 20,.00 feet northerly of said northerly line of NE* of SW4 to the most southeasterly corner of sai..d Gilbert Street Annexation; thence, 9. Continuing easterly 15 feet, more or less, along said line 20.00 feet northerly of and parallel to said northerly line of NEy. of SW* of Section 18, to the northerly prolcngation of the easterly line of NE4 of SW* of said Section 18, said point being in the centerline of Gilbert Street; thence, 10. Continuing easterly 15 feet, more or less, along the easterly pro longation of the above described parallel line to a point 15 feet easterly, as measured at right angles from the northerly prolongation of the said easterly line of NE4 of SW4; thence, 11. Southerly 2677 feet, more or less, along a line parallel to and 15,00 feet easterly of the easterly line of the E2 of SW4 of said Section 18, T4S, R10W, SBBM and its northerly prolongation to a point in the easterly pro- longation of southerly line of said E2 of SW4, said point being in the centerline of Ball Road; thence, 2 12. Continuing southerly 30 feet, more or less, along a line parallel to and 15.00 feet easterly of easterly line of NEr4 of Ni 4 of Section 19, T4S, RlOW, SBBM to a point 30.00 feet southerly, as measured at right angles of said easterly prolongation of southerly line of E- of SW* of Section 18; thence, 13. Westerly 15 feet, more or less, along a line parallel to and 30400 feet southerly of said easterly prolongation of southerly line of E-- of SWW of said Section 18 to a point in the easterly line of Mt of NW- of said Section 19, T4S, R1OW, SBBM; thence, 14. Continuing westerly 660 feet, more or less, along a line parallel to and 30.00 feet southerly of northerly line of said NE- of NW4 to a point in the southerly prolongation of the easterly line of said Tract No. 787; thence 15. Northerly 60 feet, more or less, along said southerly prolongation to the point of beginning. 3 NC W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED ?Y THE CITY COUNCIL O THE CITY OF A T: I That such proposes; annexation be designated as "GILBERT STREET NO. 2 ANNEXATION," and that notice of such pro posed annexation be and the same is hereby given; and BE IT FURTHER ER tESCLV D that the 31st day of May 19 55 at the hour of :7;00 o'clock p .M., at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of An helm, be and the sar.:e is hereby fixed as the day, hour and Place when and where any person owning real property within said terri- tory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such pro- posed annexation are hereby r_otified to appear on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed; and BE IT F1.iaTHE i RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and the .U3 ilereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim, to wit: The Cypress Enterprise and that such publication shall be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of hearing hereinabove specified. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk; and in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such proposed annex- ation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County. The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
