A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT IT IS
NECESSARY TO PURCHASE LIQUID CHLORINE FOR USE
BY THE ORANGE COUNTY JOINT OUTFALL SEWER IN
THE HANDLING OF SEWAGE, AND AUTHORIZING THE
PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE INVITING SEALED
PROPOSALS THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has heretofore been
appointed and designated as the contracting agent for the
Cities of Buena Park, Fullerton, Orange and Anaheim, and the
Garden Grove, La Habra and Placentia Sanitary Districts of
the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that it is necessary to purchase liquid chlorine for use in
the handling of sewage by the Orange County Joint Outfall
Sewer; and
WHEREAS, the amount required will exceed in cost
the sum of $2 000.00, and a notice should be published in-
viting sealed proposals therefor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim, as contracting agent for the Cities
and Sanitary Districts of the Orange County Joint Outfall
Sewer, that a notice inviting sealed proposals for the fur-
nishing of liquid chlorine for the handling of sewage, of
commercial quality and for an estimated quantity of 400,000
to 600,000 pounds, be published in the Anaheim Bulletin, a
newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in the City of Anaheim, giving notice to all per-
sons that bids for such liquid chlorine will be received up
to the hour of 7 :00 o t clock P.M. on the 26th day of April,
1955, at the Office of the City Clerk, in the City Hall,
Anaheim, California; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish said notice
as herein directed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said sealed proposals
shall comply in all respects with the specifications pre-
pared by the Manager of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer,
a copy of which shall be placed on file in the Office of the
City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, and on file in the Office
of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer, which specifica-
tions are hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder
shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of
Anaheim in a form approved by the City Attorney, for a period
of one year commencing August 10, 1955, a copy of which con-
tract shall be placed on file in the Office of the City Clerk
for inspection by bidders; and said successful bidder shall
also be req'ired to execute to the City of Anaheim a faithful
performance bond as required by law and the specifications.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 26th day of April, 1955.

NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUYCILMEN: None.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim
approved and signed said resolution on the 12th day of April, 1955.
