1955-2708RESOLUTION NO. 27 08 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM URGING LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATIVES TO OPPOSE ENACTMENT OF CERTAIN PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE STATUTES RELATING TO ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO CITIES. WHEREAS, certain proposed amendments to the statutes relating to the annexation of territory to cities have been submitted and are pending before the California Assembly; and WHEREAS, the City Council does find that the proposed amendments hereinafter set forth are detrimental to the best interest and welfare of cities; and WHEREAS, the City Council does find that the Legislative Represen- tatives of Orange County in the California Legislature should be urged to oppose the enactment of the proposed amendments to the statutes on annexation of territory to cities for the reason that such proposed legislation is inimical to the best interest and welfare of the cities of California and to property owners desiring to have property owned by them annexed to cities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the Honorable John A. Murdy, State Senator from Orange County, and the Honorable LeRoy E. Lyon, Jr., and the Honorable Earl W. Stanley, Members of the Assembly, be, and they are hereby, urged to oppose the enactment of the following named Assembly Bills and proposed Amendments to the Statutes of California relating to the annexation of territory to cities: AB 1927 ANNEXATION.
