1955-2681WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works, Division
of Highways of the State of California, is constructing a
freeway, a portion of which extends through the City Limits
of the City of Anaheim, known and designated as "State
Highway Rout e 175"; and
WHEREAS an agreement dated March 22, 1955 has been
submitted to the City Council of the City of Anaheim to be
entered into by and between the City of Anaheim and said
Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, wherein
and whereby the City of Anaheim consents to the closing of
city streets, relocation of city streets, other construction
affecting city streets, and for construction of frontage
roads if and when occasion therefor arises, all as shown on
a plan map attached to said agreement, marked "Exhibit A,"
and made a part thereof by reference; and providing that the
closing or relocation of city streets, or other construction
affecting city streets, and the construction of frontage
roads will be done and performed by the Division of Highways
at the expense of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, said agreement provides that the State
will acquire all necessary rights -of -way required and neces-
sary for the doing of said work, and that the City will
accept for inclusion in the City Street System the frontage
roads, and the relocated, reconstructed or otherwise altered
city streets; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said agree-
ment is to the advantage and for the best interest of the
City of Anaheim and should be approved and its execution
authori zed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that that certain Freeway Agreement
dated the 22nd day of March, 1955, this day submitted to the
City Council to be made and entered into by and between the
State of California, acting by and through the Department of
Public Works, Division of Highways, and the City of Anaheim,
be and the same is hereby, approved; and that the Mayor and
the City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and
directed to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the
City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved
