1955-2661RESOLUTION NO. 2661 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF, THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE STATE RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO MAKE AN ACTUARIAL SURVEY. WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has heretofore entered into a contract with the Board of Administration of the State Employees' Retirement System of the State of California; and WHREAS, the Board of Administration has submitted to the City an agreement to be entered into by and between the City of Anaheim and the firm of Coates, Herfurth and England, Consulting Actuaries, covering the cost of an actuarial survey relating to benefits based on the highest average monthly compensation earned during three consecutive years of membership, and upon the increase of death benefits for retired persons from $300 to $400, and relating to the minimum service retirement age for safety members reduced from 55 to 50 years of age, and relating to contributions of members on military duty, and relating to prior service credit for members with ten years current service, and relating to contributions for first six months of service, and upon the cost of continuation of one -half of the service or industrial dis- ability retirement allowance to certain dependents upon death of a retired safety member; and WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that it would be to the advantage and for the best interest of the City of Anaheim and its employees to have such actuarial survey made by said Board of Administration to determine the actual cost to the City and to said employees of said benefits; and that the proposed agreement submitted to the City by said Board of Administration to be entered into by and between the City of Anaheim and Coates, Herfurth and England, Consulting Actuaries, to determine such cost is for the benefit of the City and should be approved and its execution authorized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the proposed contract this day submitted to the City of Anaheim to be entered into by and between the City of Anaheim and the firm of Coates, Herfurth and England, Consulting Actuaries, for making an investigation and valuation upon the matters hereinabove mentioned, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and that the Mayor and the City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute said contract for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to said firm for the full performance and completion of said services the sum of $320.85.
