RESOLUTION NO. 2645
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM CHANGING THE NAME OF RAYMOND AVENUE
TO EAST STREET, FROM THE CITY LIMITS AT ORANGE
THORPE AVENUE TO EAST STREET.
WHEREAS, Raymond Avenue and East Street are one and
the same street lying within the City of Anaheim, Raymond
Avenue being an extension of East Street; and
WHEREAS, said street, having conflicting names, is
a source of confusion to the public; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim has, by Resolution No. 86 Series 1954 --55, p assed
on the 21st day of February, 15777 to the City
Council that the name of that portion of Raymond Avenue lying
within the City of Anaheim be changed to East Street to re-
lieve the confusion that presently exists;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Raymond Avenue,
from the City Limits at Orangethorpe Avenue to East Street,
be, and the same is hereby, changed to and shall hereafter
be known as East Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of
the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to post, or cause to be posted, the necessary signs
upon said street to accomplish the change in name as herein
made.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 21st day of February, 1955.
