1954-2545RESOLUTION NO. 2545 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, STATING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD OCTOBER 14, 1954. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim, California, by Ordinance No. 926, duly called and provided for the holding of a special election in said city on October 14, 1954, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said city the propositions set forth in said ordinance and hereinafter stated; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law, and said election was on said date duly held at the polling places designated in said ordinance, and the votes cast thereat were canvassed and the returns thereof made at the time and in the manner and form provided by law; and WHEREAS, on this 21st day of October, 1954, said City Council has duly assembled at its usual place of meeting and has canvassed the returns of said election; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Anaheim, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows: Section 1. That the special election for the purpose of submitting to the voters of the City of Anaheim the bond propositions hereinafter set forth was duly held on October 14, 1954, and the votes cast thereat were duly and regularly canvassed and the returns thereof made at the time and in the form and manner required by law. Section 2. That the bond propositions voted upon at said election are as follows, to wit: BOND PROPOSITION NO. 1: Shall the City of Anaheim incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal amount of $1,400,000 for the purpose of the acquisition and con- struction by said city of a certain municipal improvement, to wit: additions to and improvements of the waterworks system of said city, said additions and improvements to include water storage facilities, wells, pumps, water mains (including replacement of existing mains) and other facilities for the production, storage, trans- mission and distribution of water, including the acquisition of all land, easements, pipe, valves, fitting, hydrants, meters, apparatus, equipment and other property necessary therefor? BOND PROPOSITION NO. 2: Shall the City of Anaheim incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal amount of $900,000 for the purpose of the acquisition and con- struction by said city of a certain municipal improvement, to wit: additions to and improvements of the sewage disposal system of said city, said additions and improve- ments to include (1) additional main trunk, interceptor and lateral sewers and appurtenances, together with the acquisition of all easements, pipe, pumps, equipment, apparatus and other property necessary therefor, and (2) the purchase of additional capacity and rights of use in main trunk and outfall sewers presently owned jointly by the City of Anaheim and other cities and sanitary districts? BOND PROPOSITION NO. 3: Shall the City of Anaheim incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal amount of $1,200,000 for the purpose of the acquisition and con- struction by said city of a certain municipal improve- ment, to wit: the reconstruction, widening and improvement of city streets and alleys and the opening, construction and improvement of additional city streets, such construction, reconstruction and improvement to include paving, storm drain and other drainage facilities, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, lighting, traffic signals and other street improvements? Section 3. That the absent voter ballots have been duly canvassed and counted as required by law, and the result of such count is hereinafter stated. That the votes of more than two— thirds of all of the voters voting upon each of said bond propositions were cast in favor of the adoption of each of said bond propositions, and each of said bond proposi— tions are hereby declared to be carried, and this City Council is authorized to issue bonds of said City pursuant thereto as provided by law.
